G'day!
So my best mate is getting married in 5 months and he's asked me to be his best man. I said yes of course, but the only wedding I've been to was my cousin's when I was 14 and that was far from a Christian wedding. So I have several questions... What does a best man do exactly and how can I do that to uplift the groom and encourage him in God? I know the best man is suppose to organise the bachelor's party and I know that the traditional bachelor's party is far from God-glorifying...but does anyone have any ideas on what to do and instead of making a fool out of the groom, how can I build him up and encourage whilst still having fun?

Any suggestions would be great :)

Thank you so much!
Matt

So you want him to wear a camel hair suit and eat locust and honey will everyone else enjoys the good stuff?

That probably isn't what you meant.

Prepare the way, help him in everthing he needs, be there for him and give everyone a good time until it is time for him, and when that happens you become less... And let him shine.
Kinda what I meant :p

Matt,
I know that I am obviously not a guy. But, I would ask the groom what he wants for a bachelor party and say that you were thinking of a clean party, they can contribute some suggestions. I organized my sisters bridal shower, yes I know that it is different, but I asked her what she wanted and met her somewhat in the middle. I would also do some research online. Good Luck.

Yes that is far more practical. Very sage advice.
