I tend to notice some minor hostilities when I posted a couple of threads: mainly the bucket list one and the one about happiness. I can honestly say that the happiness one threw me for a loop that people were seemingly annoyed at this one. I refuse to name anybody but it was like "happiness is just a state but joy is something we get from God and that should be our goal. " Like the fact I was trying to make a cute thread was wrong! I mean I get what they were getting at but dang!

I have noticed this sometimes, like when someone gets into any conversation that isn't directly related to the Lord that means that this is not holy enough? Maybe I'm just being immature spiritually but it makes me feel uncomfortable. And I'm not saying that you can't put the Lord in there, on the contrary! Give thanks to God for the Him being in our lives, and being able to share it with us! What does proverbially hip checking the other person do?

If the hostilities you have witnessed here are only minor you're doing good. I see Bible discussion threads that equate to a full on bar room brawl. Don't take it personally, people are edgy jerks no matter where you go these days.

Like RickyZ said, try not to take it personally. Remember that tone is misinterpreted a lot of the time in written form. And then you run into those that seem to have no sense of themselves, also.

I mean, COME ON STEPH! Sheesh, isn't it obvious?! qweroiusa;fdjo!!!

:p

Steph, this thread is not sufficiently spiritual. I think you're being worldly by even bringing up the topic of people complaining about frivolous discussions. In fact, in the book of Timothy...

;) Seriously, don't let it get your goat. Levity makes life livable.

i noticed that, Steph, and my honest first thought was this:

if joy is something God gives us (and it is), why would it need to be a goal?
don't we already possess it? :)

then, because i sincerely love that person, i blithely ignored what i'm sure was meant in love.

people are yet posting in that thread, my dear, and we're enjoying reflecting
on the things God blesses us with.

(ps--forgive us? some of us [me] haven't quite recovered from raising teenagers! heh)

ArtsieSteph,

I don't see anything wrong with your threads about Happiness and the Bucket List, granted I can see where people get upset about that last one. Still, they are meant to be fun and not as heavy as some issues that are brought up. There will always be someone who will find fault in someone else and that isn't right, but it does happen. Just keep doing what you are doing. You have great advice and wisdom and a great sense of humor and it is evident that you love God with all your heart so keep it up.:)

I think most people are just trying to troll the threads, and get a response. If you pay them any attention, they win. So, rise above it, and keep your head up high. Be, uh... happy? :)

Meh... I find a lot of Christians tend to be hostile towards others. Just boils down to human flaw.

Strange...I figured the best thing to do was to delete this thread since I don't want to cause any kind of contention, but I seem not sure how to do that. O_O; Maybe I should check my settings...

I know what you mean. NPI A lot of people on this site seem to be very intolerant. It seems like there are quite a few people on else.who just want to argue and be mean. Don't let them hurt your feelings. If they are rude and insulting; throw it right back at them. Obviously people that act like that don't know anything about being a Christian. Just remember not to take it personally because they don't even know you, and if you hadn't posted something that annoyed them then they would just go on another site and bother someone else.
