As a young adult trying to do the right things, some times I feel like what I do is all for nothing. Sometimes I want to live in the world instead of in the Lord. Sometimes I feel as if I would have more fun and enjoy life more. What are your thoughts?

It is important to stand up for what is right even if you are the only one or even if it doesn't seem very important. Life can try to trick you into believing that living for the world is funner. I don't think it would be any funner, I think it would be more depressing. What would you live for if you didn't live for God? As Christians we all have hope and faith and live for Christ. I have gone through some rough times and figured out that how I view my situation has a big impact on my attitude. I have stood up for what was right on my own before. It may have seemed later that I did it for nothing, but it is important and doing the right thing is not for nothing.

I don't believe that doing what is right, nor living for God, is as antonymous with having fun as it may be cracked up to be. Besides, so many Christians partake in activities that are not esteemed to the Lord that it would be hypocritical for many to put you down for doing likewise. In any case, remember that God knows the heart better than anyone else; you can do the "right thing" with some enmity towards it. That may be spiritual warfare, or it may be you, but it's something just about everyone goes through. Choosing what you believe to be good, right, moral, ethical, when you want to do the opposite: that's character.

Just love and value, yourself, other people, the world around you and of course God. This Christian stuff actually is quite simple.
