Being a young christian, I often find myself bored. Back before I gave my life to Christ, it was easy to find something to get into (which was usually sinful) when I became bored. Now all I really do is work and go to church as I wait for the new semester to start.

Does anyone have any suggestions of positive activities I could take part in that would help eliminate boredom?

You could find a website of Christians... And ask them what to do... They could steer you in the right direction.

If only there was a such thing as a "website of Christians". That would be super helpful!

I do enjoy a good walk! I've also wanted to take up jogging. It seems so liberating. I also used to draw/paint a lot. I've stopped and always thought that I needed to start back up again. I wad pretty good at it and I don't want "adulthood" to rob me of that childhood talent as well.

Thank you for the suggestion! I'm definitely going to use them!

Read a book to yourself or a child/ adult at the hospital or retirement home.

Cook for someone at your church whom you know could use it.

VOLUNTEER!!!

Plant a garden or tree!

Help an elderly person or single mother with a chore or anything they may need help with.

Pick up a new hobby...like car restoration!

Clean a beach, a road way any where trash is thrown!

Look at the stars and name them!

TEACH someone something you are good at.

Go do something! Go for a walk, pick up a new instrument, grab a book (if you read), cook, bake, sign up for meetup.com (my friend, he moved from NY to a different state and had a hard time making friends. So he signed up for meetup.com. It's a website that does groups that match your interests, and you meet up with a group of people somewhere and just do whatever. He made lots of friendships that way), go on an endless drive, hike, kayak, canoe, paint, draw.

Do something you enjoy.

Are you serious? BOREDOM? no way...knowing JESUS, getting involved in spiritual things, having a relationship with GOD is anything but boring...unless you are attending one of those Frozen/chosen churches down on the corner. When I was a teenager, I was highly involved with being in a youth team, leading BIBLE studies, not because I knew a lot, but I was always seeking a lot. I would suggest doing things for others, like a food drive, or a clothing drop, or having a song service, or helping at a local nursing home or charity or soup kitchen. I now manage a homeless shelter..and I am anything but bored...the holy spirit infilling you and using you to help others is a very rewarding lifestyle. I will pray for you to seek direction of where GOD would have you serve others and not focus on your boredom.
