I've been pretty depressed lately. Most of it comes from just the feeling of being alone I guess and probably because I'm kind of discontented from God. My relationship with God isn't that great but I keep trying to rebuild it. However the depression is just building and building. At time I feel really lonely and afraid and just so sad. I try to pray but It doesn't seem to help. I dont know what I'm going through, it might be some sort of test of faith or I could just be fooling myself I really don't know. All I know is that my depression has been going for a while and I'm sick and tired of it. I'm tired of sitting in bed so confused and scared because I dont know why this is happening to me. I used to be a very very happy girl. I still am its just some of me is broken. I know God exists I believe that but sometimes I have tiny doubts because I'm not getting a response from him but I'm not giving up. Any advice would be great!

I have been alone and had been feeling alone for quite sometime. I understand how cold loneliness can make you feel. I am glad that you are holding on to God at these times. You might want to ask yourself what else you are holding on to...a broken relationship? Hurt feelings? Of course it could be anything. It is great that you pray and i believe that most of us will have our faith waiver at times. Talk with God and commune with him. Speak with him as if u can see him next to you because remember He is. He is, among so many other things a friend...the very best of friends you could ever imagine. Read the bible. Look to Him with willingness and sincerity. He will speak to you but remember He will tell you what He wants you to hear not exactly what you want to hear. God bless.

there are times that we all feel that way. disconected, alone, doubting. from people and from god. dont try looking too hard for what god is trying to tell or show you because satan will use that against you. make you get the wrong message. you have to be patient and look not with your own desires in mind but willing to accept whatever it is god wants for you. god is always there. its our own insicurities and doubts that make us feel like gods not there at the moment. when you relize that he will never leave you alone, never abandon you. never leave you without guidence. thats when you will be able to stop doubting and strenghten your relationship even more. even the strongest christians have these feeling. even the smallest sin can make us feel diconected. dont let these feelings keep you down.

Dear sister of Christ, hold on to these scriptures

Psalms 62:8
Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
Psalms 37:5
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this:
Psalms 9:10
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.
Psalms 91:21
I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

If there was any one who understood what it felt to be alone and depressed it was David!! Every one turned against him, was after his own life, and he must of felt like God turned his back on him. He must have felt disconnected... but what did he do? Did he give up? did he lay down and accepted the fate of what his enemies wanted? No! He said in God I will put my trust, for he is our hiding place our safe refugee and he cares for us. He loves us.

Sister there will be many times where you will feel alone and that God isn't there, but you must tell your self until you believe it that God is with you and that he has never even thought about leaving! In him there is newness always! he forgives and the enemy likes to get us in those thoughts of God has stopped talking to us and that he left us because we are sinners and unworthy.... But what we have to understand is that Jesus Christ has paid the price! His blood bought our redemption, his death brought us back to the value we once had with God and we are now eternally his Children!! God has won! Even Satan himself knows that he lost (Matthew 8:28-29....[SUP]28 [/SUP]When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes,[SUP][a][/SUP] two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way. [SUP]29 [/SUP]“What do you want with us, Son of God?” they shouted. “Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?”) Even the demons know that their day is coming.. rise up Child of God! over come your feelings and the lies that's been whispered in your ears!!! For greater is he that lives in you then he that is the world

Be encouraged
your brother in Christ,
Sam

A good idea would be to join a church or get more involved with the one you're already in. The Church is an excellent way to meet people and that would help your feelings of loneliness. It will also help you with your faith in God. If possible perhaps find a church with a youth group as they tend to do a good job of finding people around your age to interact with.

Don't just sit there and wait for God to fix it for you!

Theres a common saying that "God helps those who help themselves"

Go and do things that make you feel better.
Get into shape, Join a team, cut/dye your hair, learn to do cool nail art or make your own clothes.

I'm saying this cause I was Feeling SOOOOO abandoned and lonely and the moment I Got up and decided I was going to take my life by the riens and DO something everything changed.

Its still a daily struggle and I have to remind myself to keep going, but sometimes you have to move for God to bring you out.

That's exactly how I feel right now. Only difference is that my depression has been going on for almost over 10 years. I'm 22 now and I guess I learnt how keep it all inside and put on a brave smile. I have days when my faith is so strong and times when I just loose it completely. Having someone to confide in definitely helps and reading the Bible too. Two verses that I've come across today that helped remind me that God is by my side are Joshua 8:1 and jeremiah 31:13. I hope you feel better by now. :)
