Is Christmas a holy celebration or not?. Jehovah's witnesses said that it's not a holy celebration and other churches.

Whether it is holy or not is entirely up to you. If you listen to what others say about Christmas but do not judge for yourself yet instead go by what others say then you can easily be sent down the wrong road. ask yourself this when you celebrate Christmas is it about traditional Christmas or is it about Jesus? There is nothing wrong with receiving and giving of presents what is in your heart is the deciding factor

The Jehovah witnesses don't believe in your Jesus, don't listen to them about anything pertaining to godliness

JW believe Jesus is Michael the Archangel manifest in the flesh.
The bible says that if any come to you not claiming Jesus is the Word of God or Logos manifest in the flesh, let them be accursed. In essence they have a different Christ. That being said, like any cult organization or church that falls into false doctrines and traditions, a broken clock can be right twice a day :p. It doesn't mean that the organization itself is right or in God.

Regarding "Holy" days or holidays, I know of 7 major ones that are biblical. I also know a few of the minor feasts that the Jewish people had established as milestones for what God had done for them.

As part of our Sanctification process, for born again believers it is foolish for any of us to do something without first examining what it is that we do. The bible tells us to seek what is pleasing to the Lord. The born again believer has an imperative to test all things and see if God is pleased with what it is that we are about to do. So with ANYTHING that we do including the celebration of "Christmas" we are asked to see what God says about the subject from OT to NT to find out if it's something He wants us to do. I'd examine the celebrations and traditions and compare them to scripture. I'd examine the circumstances of the advent and compare them to scripture. Then ask the Lord to guide your decision about the subject. Regarding Christ-mass, the Lord has already had me make my decision regarding this day. However, we all have a choice to make :). Just remember, when we worship Him, we worship Him in both Spirit and in Truth.

The Bible does not contain a record of any Christmas celebration. In the 33 1/2 years that Jesus was on the earth there is no scriptural record of Jesus or his followers celebrating Christmas.

Christmas is based on nonscriptural practices and festivities surrounding the winter solstice and the pagan god Saturnalia.

There are also no records in the Greek or Hebrew Scriptures of true worshippers celebrating their own birthdays or Jesus' birthday.

Those who celebrated- Herod and Pharoah in Joseph's time we're not worshippers of the God of Israel. The festivities didn't end well at all either.

They have since the late 1920's. It took the organization some 45 years to come to that conclusion.

Been to a lot of birthdays.

•Nobody died. There were no calls for a beheading or hanging(possibly because the people celebrating weren't as mean and evil as Pharaoh and Herod).

•Nobody was sexually assaulted.

•Nobody was arrested.

•I can't even remember anyone getting drunk(probably because at nearly all birthday parties, nobody brought alcohol).

I have heard a few obscenities.

But, that's happened at work, too!

I conclude, then, that working should be banned...as well as any activity where there is swearing.

Flesh gives birth to flesh - that's the easy part ... But ...
Spirit gives birth to spirit - that's the higher part.

Physical birth or the seed by which birth can come is all around us. Population explosion, illegitimacy and the negative fruits of fornication and self and excess in abortion and sexual disease and impisonment, disease, crime, poverty, murder and war and genocide. Ben just one generation since the last cleansing of Jews and a seeming continuance of ethnic cleansing the world over.

How many on this site celebrate their own birthdays and how many have had a Herod or Pharoah experience?
