Sexually Abused I was sexually interferred with when I was 5 or 6, by a neighbor boy, leading me to having feelings that I did not want to have for the opposite sex. It also led me into promiscuous activity, that lasted for many years.
A spirit of lust permeated my being, bringing me into many sexual encounters, that I do not believe I would have ever had anything to do with, had it not been for the sexual activity when I was very young.
That spirit within me, led me to believe that I could have any man that I wanted.
They were easy prey, with that spirit in the lead.
I can easily see why so many fall into sexual immorality. Most do not realize that something has taken control of their spirit, and is leading them in a path, that they may not have chosen on their own.
The bible says that we do not fight flesh and blood, but, principalities, and powers of the air, wickedness in high places. (the mind)
It also says that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, (fleshly) , but, mighty to the pulling down of strongholds.
I was born again, in 1985, however, this spirit did not leave, with salvation. And I know that will go crossways with what many believe. But, this is my testimony, and the way it happened with me. It is also the reason that there is much immorality in the church, as well as out of it.
Many of us are walking time bombs. Waiting for an explosion.
A look from someone with a spirit of lust, will egnite that same spirit within another.
Young people feel guilty for the feelings that they experience, and for having a desire for more of what they know in their minds are wrong. This creates terrible confusion within. Much shame, and guilt are experienced, bringing one into adulthood, mixed up, to say the least.
Its hard to fight your own body.
And most are too ashamed to reach out, and even if they do, many will not believe them. So. They live with the shame, and guilt.
This leads to depression. Sometimes to death. Some can't live with it. Others, run from it, leading quiet lives of dispair. Hurting and confused on the inside, trying to be normal, but, not knowing how.
Counseling can help, and often times does. However, I recommend prayer. God can do what nothing nor no one can do for each of us. He can set us free. Free from shame, free from unholy desire, free from lust, free from guilt, and pain, andcondemnation. The bible says that "Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed."
I can truly say, that I have experienced this freedom.
And the good news, is that it is available to whosoever will.
It is available to any that will seek him. He is real. and he is ready.
