When I say the end is near its not because of some crazy guy predicting a date... I say its near because the bible gives us the signs to look for of the end times and these things are happing now... As far as when this is actually going to happen I have no clue, could be 5 minutes from now or 500 years.. Just going by the signs we see today I don't think it will be that long, but who knows our concept of time dosent apply to God.
The Bible has had signs to look for during the past 2000 plus years. Every generation has pointed to events and believed they are the last. People can become so fixated about this that they lose any sense of objectivity. There is a whole End Time industry involved of which the likes of John Hagee and others are providing the fuel. They are making fortunes by writing books and holding rallies that reinforce peoples insecurities. They are not ''crazy guys'' they are very clever in
what they do and employ every trick to part people from their money including mass hypnosis. This end time hysteria
took off in the early 70's with Hal Lyndsey's book the Late Great Planet Earth. Much of his predictions have been proved
incorrect but the bandwagon still keeps rolling.

How could you waste your life on Jesus return, that's what all christians are waiting for... Must say I'm a bit confused by this statement.
You wait. Christians do. God is already with me, so why am I waiting for him?

And wasted time? Is having a thread about what charity we would start if we had the money wasted time? Yes. Because it's playing "what if" instead of dealing with the here and now. I've got nothing against wasting time until it is taken so far as this, where it is what consumes your life. Instead of handling what God gives you today, you wait for something unlikely to happen in your life (and since you're into rapture, it will never happen), and call that "a base understanding of the Bible" It's really not. It's playing "what if" on a fictional event.

If your a christian an belive in the bible, then I don't see how you can say the rapture will never happen. To say that is to say the bible is wrong because it is clearly talked about in the bible... And yes spirtuatly God is already with us. One day he will be physically with us... And I see no waste of time here not everything you do has to a serious thing.

Well I'm not asking for anybody's money, and I'm not basing my statements of off anything said by some end time industry.. The signs are all biblically based, and we are seeing them in our world today.. We would not have need told of these things of we weren't meant to pay attention to them.... Your welcome to believe however you want though but I do implore you to maybe do a little more research with a open mind.

Yes it does seem almost impossible for a thread to stay on the original topic, but that dosent really bother me. I have no problem discussing what ever the conversation may turn to.

Do a word study on "rapture" in the Bible. I'll even give you a running start. Rature comes from the Latin rapturo, which means "caught up." So do a word study for that phrase in the NT. It's an eye opener.

Next do some research on the history of "rapture." If it is Biblical, then how did Christians not even know about it for over 1500 years?

Rapture will happen, but not like you think of it. Jesus returns and Judgement Day starts. The Great Tribulation happened in the first and second century. Tribulation continues today but not in the western hemisphere.

You're being taught rapture by copy-paste theology. It's time to learn for yourself. And when you get unstuck, then you are free to realize God is already with us. Eternity already started for us. We just dump these bodies later on.

God is with us NOW! So why wait?

The signs happened. The one left in the field lived. The one taken away was killed by the Romans for refusing to deny Jesus is God. The sun was blotted out by the smoke of burning down all of Jerusalem. The river of blood was ankle deep and came from the Romans killing everyone until the streets literally flowed with ankle deep blood. The temple was destroyed after racking up bodies throughout it four feet high. The government tried to wipe out all Christians at the infancy of Christianity. The government in Alexandria did it. They wiped out every Christian. Some of those occupied by Rome ran and hid. Hundreds of thousands were killed per day. The road from Israel to Rome was lit by the bodies of Christians impaled on poles and set on fire. The headlights for the conquering chariots were Christians set on fire and then dragged behind the first chariot. When that body stopped burning, they took the next prisoner and did the same thing with him or her. Once in Rome, they set up the Coliseum with 24/7 entertainment. The lions against the Christians. It got "boring" sometimes, because the lions had food waiting for them. Enough Christians were simply dumped onto the floor to keep feeding the lions. Sometimes the Christians had to wait a week or more before being eaten, because the lions were too full to eat them immediately.

And they had all that time to renounce Christ, but couldn't. The signs happened. Revelation was for people going through it. Why would they care about something that would happen 2000+ years later, when they were seriously hurting?

It is still happening but at a much less degree now. There is one thing that needs to happen now. When the last one the Father has chosen is chosen? Then Jesus returns and the New Heaven and New Earth start -- eternity with God to glorify him forever.

Well your right about on thing at least the word rapture isn't in the bible. But I never said it was. It is simply the word we use for the event talked about in first Thessalonians..... 1Thessalonians 4:15-18 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up to gather with them in the clouds to meet the lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words....... To argue against this is to argue against the bible, and my bible is never wrong.

No. I didn't say it's not in the Bible. I told you how to find it in the Bible. Again, you'd rather believe what you've been taught then do your own study.

And you're right. You're Bible is never wrong. You, on the other hand, are!

Well you are entitled to your own opinion.. But I do my own studies, specifically on revilations. It is future events that have not yet happend... Now like with most of the new testament you do see old testament events that seem similar because they are a foreshadow to what is coming.
