I am by no means a great writer, blogger, or any thing of that sort, but I do have something on my mind.
I am 22
I am in college
I consider myself a devout Christian
I work

and I cannot help but wonder... am I meant for more? than just the southern American dream in processing?

I figure this is how my life will pan out... get a good job after college, meet a guy, get married, have kids, and then bam.. we have planted ourselves in soil.

I mean is that it?

I do not see anything wrong with that.

I cannot help, but wonder why though?

Since I am only 22, it makes me think that I waste a lot of my time. For example, get on this website pretty religiously.

I like to go out and see things and have a strong wanderlust. I am a great conversationalist and love meeting new people. It just seems as if I am never satisfied. I have moved around the United States, just packed up and left my hometown.

I'm spoiled. I want more. I want new people and new lessons.

Why can I not stay put?

Sometimes I feel as though I am in college for no reason. I attend a Bible college and I am trying to build a ministry with a couple of people here. I have congratulated myself for staying here as long as I have, which is a year.

I lived in AZ, ND, IA, OK, TX, CA, and now TN.

That is just places I have lived.. and left quickly, no more than a semester.

The reason why I feel as though I am in college for no reason is because the type of world we live in does not support the kind of degree I am after. How will I support myself?

I know these are things I need to think about.

Just my thoughts tonight. Feel free to give any input.

For not being, in your words, a great writer you have written a very interesting post. Reading it made me think about passages from Ecclesiastes. It's as if you have reached a certain stage of your life and are now wondering 'what's it all about?". The writer thought that it was all vanity but I believe that you are off to a good start.

Hi Damara, I am so happy you are in Bible college and that you love Jesus. Finish your degree, Jesus will show you his calling for you.

America is the easiest place in the world to plant new churches and get new converts because there is the constitutional guarantee of absolute freedom of religion(even most western countries such as the UK, France and even Canada do Not in practice have the total freedom of faith that America does - so use the great opportunity of being American to strengthen the Church fearlessly.

Maybe you will become a pastor or a pastor's wife or a missionary or a Christian business woman who supports the church. Jesus said he needs workers for the harvest, there is not enough . This is why you are getting your degree. It is important to be trained as a harvest worker in these last decades before his return.
Jesus needs you!

Some in the Church and most in general society say the Bible is not relevant in our modern era.

I tell them that in July 20, 1969 during the first manned landing on the moon(called Apollo 11) American astronaut Buzz Aldrin took John 15:5 on an index card to the moon and silently prayed these immortal words of our great God Jesus on the moon; then he took Holy Communion ! This amazing astronaut knew the only way they could safely get to the moon and back was with the help of Jesus. This is in Aldrin's book "Magnificent Desolation".
See also :https://www.guideposts.org/faith/st...-buzz-aldrin-on-communion-in-space?nopaging=1

Americans are so proud that they were the first to land men on the moon yet 99% do not know the deeply Christian part of the Apollo 11 moon landing. There were even several Christian prayers groups in NASA praying for the astronauts. You can share this story to show fellow Christians and seekers that Jesus will help us do anything if the end goal glorifies his Name.

And always tell them to pass it on(too often we share something inspiring with a fellow believer and it ends right there instead of going out like a ripple on the "pond" of society to reach hundreds of millions. We can tell it to groups on Facebook and/or tell people in Church such as Sunday school teachers etc. The Apostle Paul did Not have the opportunities American Christians have.

You can change America with Jesus's help and with his church.

-----------I'll being writing a thread about a real picture of Isaiah 36:1. hope you and others will read it and use it to show people that we can be certain that what is written in the Bible is literally true and factual.(And tell them to pass it on:))---------------

Serving the King of kings is the most exciting and meaningful thing you can do in your life on earth. I read about a woman who became CEO of a major energy company but decided to quit to become a pastor of a church.

Jesus will guide you in your life's exciting service for him and his kingdom and church.

All praise to Jesus, His Father and the Holy Spirit forever and ever!

Find your passion. What is it that keeps you tirelessly interested? What is the thing that you'd love to obsess about? (and please don't say pinterest) Then you will know your true calling in life. :)

Your answer is found in scripture : Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness ...." It goes onto to say what you need and sometimes want will be added to you . When I focused on Jesus and marriage was even on my mind - God spoke to me in a vision regarding future marriage I actually for a long time didn't want to get marriaged but a youth pastor spoke something that really meant something to me keep the door open for marriage don't decide you won't let God decide he knows what you want.
Its sin to be apart of a ministry if God hasn't called u same with bible college . and with calling always comes God speaking to you first and then passion desire. Please don't be hurt by me saying that. You're lacking excitement in God how u gonna lead many to their Father if you're so bored? You're lacking one thing Focus on Jesus and all else will flow out of that.

Well Hi, I am 36, with a wife and 2 boys 13 and 7.
I am not in school.
I too am a Christian after a lifetime of running from God to do what I want, then 5 years of thinking I was a Christian without even really knowing or believing what that truly means.
I too have a job and work.

You know longer have to wonder, just understand that you were created for a purpose, now not knowing you or anything about you I would have no clue what it may be, but we are ALL created with a purpose.

To be honest most of what this world sells us as the "American Dream" is no more than a deception and distraction from what will truly bring us peace and make us the most "whole" we can get in this life. That is God's way, and nothing this world offers can satisfy us fully, or very long.

As far as your interest "
I am a great conversationalist and love meeting new people", sounds to me like a talent that would be very useful in sharing the truth you've found to be true in life with others. That's from my outside perspective anyway.

Be careful what you wish for "
I'm spoiled. I want more. I want new people and new lessons.", while life experience is great I have found there is only 1 thing that can truly satisfy on a complete level. I have also faced some harder times in life, and while I am grateful for them now, it wasn't smooth by any means. Life is hard, heck our experiences are what helps mold us into the people we are, but in this life they can be difficult too. Some one once warned me about praying for patience, and I feel it applies here too. LOL

I would just try to never lose site of what is truly important, that being God and the relationships in our lives. What are jobs, games, movies, music, art, cloths, imagine, reputation, money, or any of the other billion distractions this world tells us will bring happiness when you are holding your dead baby that just starved to death in your arms. What does all that "FuZz" mean then, or when the doctor says you have cancer, or someone you loves has a gun to their head. These are the times that what is REAL what is really important are made clear. Trust God to guide you to where you need to be, and for the record I think you're there.

Well that was my response to your thoughts, I hope you have a great day.

I've spent most of my life wondering if there is more and I still do.

Although looking back God has certainly filled that yearning for more.
Ive helped in the youth group, taken Sunday School,
Worked for two Christian charities, played saxophone in the worship team,
been a team leader on a children's camp for several years.
Met loads of wonderful people along the way, had the opportunity to
play with a famous Christian musician during a weekend music conference.

Currently I work part time and look after my elderly aunt, that's part of God's plan as well.
Not to mention get to know loads of people on here.

If you want more God will provide the opportunities if you look for them and don't pass
them up. They may come in all sorts of unexpected ways.

Pray about this and make yourself available.

Look, you are a free spirit. You wander the world , but you cannot plant your roots anywhere. You cannot settle for the ordinary like most of the people do. That is a good thing! Celebrate it! Keep on going, and may you never rest , but keep seeking higher horizons, and better things! Keep moving , never cease to reach new heights, that is what most of us wish for but cannot attain. I salute you!

There is a purpose for every person if we would seek Him out and find it. Definitely seek God first in all things. Push away distractions. Don't make finding a husband your priority, if God has someone for you, it'll come in time. Who knows what amazing things God can do through you? You just have to go with His flow.
