Hi everyone, I have a friend who is atheist but I believe he has a curiosity for God and i feel embarrassed at times as I cannot always answer some of his questions the most recent one being "If god has a plan for us then why is it my fault if i sin or do stuff because it's God's plan" and I don't have the knowledge to answer such questions. Any advice on how to help my friend would be much appreciated (talking about a party type finishing school) or at least give him a good view on the christian belief. A answer to the above quota-ted question is also helpful, I conducted some research online but could not find anything.

Thanks for visiting guys and ladies

It is never in God's plan that we should sin, sin happens when we take our eyes off Him and focus more on the world.

The world is filled with sin which originally came about due to the fall (disobedience of Adam and Eve) in Genesis who were deceived by Satan. Satan is a fallen angel who thought himself better than his creator, he and a third of the angels were thrown out of Heaven - it is all there in the Bible, you will need to read and study it to answer difficult questions. Of course God could get rid of Satan any time of His choosing but it is in His plan when this will happen, read Revelation.

We sin because we have free will. That is both a blessing and a curse, unforuniyly. I would inquire about what he believes, and then tell him what the bible says.

To me the question he is asking is related to if God is all knowing then does it matter when I sin? If God knows everything then he is considering if we really do have free will. Yes God is all knowing but he values our free will. He can see the past, present, future all at the same time. Not controlling our lives but only watching our lives, and stepping in to draw us to him. Of course God is not just watching though, he may see us but God wants everyone to have a relationship with him. So he does things to allow us to freely choose him or deny him. This is God's plan to give everyone the option to be saved. God gave us laws and a inner moral compass. We have his word to guide us and help us refrain from sin. So God may have a plan and yes Jesus died for our sins but at the moment of proclaiming Jesus as one's Messiah. We must die to our old self and walk as Christ. Book of James clearly speaks of a follower must not only read the word but do what the word says. Sin cannot be practiced in a willful way. We must ask forgiveness and move forward trying to be better everyday.

The response to the question I could give would be, There are so many people, the plan given could be fulfilled by anyone, following statutes and showing willingness is usually what determines if He is going to use you, or if your gonna be one of the majority who comes and dies abstinent to him, while he spends time with those who follow statutes as a token of faith.

A thought, if you could get him to pray, go through the beginning, find the evidence from the exodus to the making of it to the river, which was there for all men to see, there was something more than a leader making claims, say them in your prayer and ask for evidence for your friend who like them would need to see to believe, as they been given.

be a living witness. let him see the truth by how you live. when he sees that you believe God and then sees the results of the promises you believe, that will make up for your lack of teaching knowledge..
