Hi, glad to be a part of this forum. I recently met a girl in a coffee shop. She was sitting next to me and I shared the word of God with her. We became friends and exchanged phone numbers. She called me in the evening saying that she needed help regarding an important issue.
She is a sex addict and was subjected to sexual abuse by her neighbor. Since then, she had many relationships and affairs. She cannot do without sex and has the habit of watching porn too. It is very clear that she is willing to let off her bad habits. I talked to my best friend about this and she told me that a sex addiction treatment could help her to come out of addiction.
I am confused. Should I do this much favor for a stranger? I want the name of God to be glorified. Can an addiction treatment cure this condition completely? Please give some genuine replies and suggestions. Thanks in advance.

If you just met her and she is asking you for money, I do not blame you for being wary of being used. And let's face it, using people, places, and things is what addicts are best known for.

Did you know there is a link in what you wrote in your OP? You must have copied it from the Bellwood location of the Edgewood health center site? Anyways, millions of dollars are spent by people to go to fancy treatment centers when what they really need is God in their lives. There are many community programs and especially the 12 step program that is free. Look up Narcotics Anonymous. Yeah, it is somewhat focused on drug use but if you look at the steps, drugs are not mentioned at all, just addiction. Addiction is a cunning enemy of life that can manifest in many different ways and areas of life. Has this person tried anything like that yet? If not, why not?

They need a good deliverance minister to break the spirit of lust operating in her life......The spirit of lust was transferred to her when her neighbor abused her and she needs to break that soul tie and let God heal that hurt so that the perverted spirit will leave her....

While drug treatment plans are great, things involving sexuality always have a spiritual core....if you treat the spiritual problem the outward manifestation of it (via overdoing sex) will be treated as well...

My advice is take her to a good Holy Spirit filled pastor and ask prayer for her at your church or by this minister......

I had the same problem. Jesus, being born again, deliverance from the spirit of lust and perversion, long renewing of the mind. The mind must be renewed bc it and the flesh are used to the addiction.
