You are an adult when you think you are an adult. It's pretty subjective. ;)

Now a days, kids that are 12 think they're adults, are they? No

18 is the official "you're an adult now" age. But for being qualified as young adults, I think the ages 18 - 21 applies (though 25 seems more appropriate). It's also a maturity thing, when someone considers themselves "adult" adults. Some see it at 21, 25, 28, and beyond, while others, that are adults by age, you wouldn't consider them adults by act.

I also think the same goes for girl-woman/boy-man argument. One female can be a woman at 23 while a female that is 46 is still a "girl," same goes for males (but man-boy not woman-girl ). Although when I was younger, I always wondered why women in their 30s still called themselves "girls."

Some people at 12 are adults though because of life experience and responsibilities. Not everyone has an easy life, so they grow up faster then other people. That's why it's subjective. I know 13 year olds who when you talk to them you forget they are 13, and I know 60 some year olds who throw temper tantrums like toddlers. So it is in the eye of the beholder. :)

I get what you're saying but they're not adults legally, maybe "grown" but definitely not adults.

Thanks for the opinions... I think that between 25-30 is when you go from the young adult to adult stage, maturity has some to do with it, but I'm talking from an age perspective.

In legal terms it really depends on the country, with it varying so much I really don't think you can pinpoint an exact age when someone is an adult. :)
