I agree that this isn't a dating site, but can you blame some folks? Today's Christian culture highly encourages us young folk to get married before we're old enough to run for Senate (which is about a month away for me...oh boy.)
But anyway, I really think that there is a ministry gap among young single Christians because, in my opinion, young Christians getting married is standard operating procedure in the modern church. So what does the church do with the few singles leftover? What I like about the CC Singles forum is that we can address and face these issues common to singles head-on.
Hopefully, nearly all of us will realize that we don't need to automatically go into search mode for that Plus One and instead first pray to Jesus, then ask "Why?" "What's the point of the 'Epic Quest For The Blessed Fountain'?" I implore EVERYONE, even you, Fromdomlove, to ask yourself why you want a spouse.
I have realized that many of the deep desires in my heart that requires a person are already fulfilled here on CC without the need for a marriage, and it's this: like-minded fellowship. But that's me. I don't know what you're motivations are, sir.
So, to sum it up, I believe the CC Singles Forum is here to find common ground and edify each other because of our unique status. In fact, I believe that's the main point of the Church itself: To edify each other, as written in many parts of I Corinthians, particularly chapters 12-14.
