So I've just recently become Christian this past summer.. I've never really believed in ghosts like actual dead people walking around earth I don't know if they are real or not. But lately things keep disappearing from my house then randomly appearing in places I've looked like a million times and the other day my boyfriend told me that ever since he was little he has been able to talk to ghosts and sense them and that there is one in our house. He told me about several times he saw ghosts and talked to them as a kid and as an adult. I don't really know what to think about all of this?

Ghosts are demonic not people who have been dead for years. Your boyfriend, if he is talking to them, should leave them alone and you need to pray over your house. Were you into anything spiritual before you became a Christian? Are you living with your boyfriend?

Welcome jsara4403, as you have stated there is no such thing as "ghost" of deceased people who lived on earth. However there are demonic spirits that dwell on the earth. Demons doesn't always appear as scary hideous beings. As the scripture states like Satan they can come as an angel of light

Hi jsara4403, I'm not saying you living with your bf is causing these things. Is your bf a Christian? If he isn't a Christian what does he believe?

I think that you should reconsider this spooky boyfriend of yours. As a new Christian I would just focus on getting to intimately know God by regular prayer, devotion and bible reading. From my understanding of the bible I don't believe that spirits from the dead come back to be with us. Glad to have you join us. Welcome to CC.

Yeah I think there is only one instance in the OT where a spirit comes back. Witch of Endor brought back Samuel.

He's not a Christian.. He's thinks the "universe" controls everything but not like a higher power sort of thing and he doesn't believe in heaven or hell he just thinks when people die they are ghosts and walk around.

As a new Christian you are going to have to be stronger in your faith then he is with his belief. So many times people we are around can drag us down and we lose focus on God and His Word.

Just a bit of advice for you on the living together. I would recommend you not live together and that is all I will say about it. :)

Stay in prayer and keep your heart close to the Lord.

They are not the spirits of dead people.. They are demonic spirits masqurading as the spirits of dead people.. If people hold a seance in a house they have unknowingly opened a portal to demonic oppresion..

So maybe your house hosted a seance or has some kind of other occult practices happening in it?? If i where you i would declare out loud in your house that you believe and trust in the LORD Jesus Christ and by His Holy name order the spirit / s to leave..

I'd be skeptical, as you already seem to be. His supposed sixth sense could be a psychological issue. You could try to ask difficult questions; maybe you can expose some truth, get a better handle on it.

I used to practice things like auto writing, which is letting the spirits use your arm to write messages to you. Its alot like using an ouiji board but alot easier.

And it would respond to me and give me intelligent answers, and even ask me questions as well. And I believed it was the spirit of a dead person until I was attacked spiritually, and put through absolutely awful things.
All this lead me to come to Christ, but it was not something youd want to go through.

Anywho, any spirit you communicate with is not a human being, it is absolutely demonic. Why would they tell you the truth about anything? The whole point of them putting on this act is to lead you to continue communicating with spirits, which is an abomination to the Lord. These spirits that communicate with people and pretend to be the deceased are workers of false signs and wonders.

There are the spirits of the dead wandering the earth waiting the day of judgement, Jesus told us about them in Matthew 12. But they arent the ones communicating with us.

Keep clear of anything connected with the supernatural. That includes things like Tarot cards and I Ching. I meddled with I Ching cards once and attracted a spirit in my house. I started to hear the jingling of Coins in a room. It was only after I got rid of them that it stopped.

I use to be big into ghosts although it was fun at the time I now see I was deceived. All that ghost junk you see on tv is more or less faked and if it truly is a spirit you can bet it's demonic in nature. I had a pagan girlfriend (bad Idea I wouldn't suggest it) but she told me story of when she was younger about how she died and saw a figure who declared herself to be Diana. I didn't know what to think of it at the time but I now know Diana(Artemis) Is a greek God. She is mentioned in the bible and I can tell you that she's most likely a demon. It is my belief that most pagan gods (If real) are actually demons. Thats a personal belief I'm not saying its true. But my point is demons can deceive and they've been doing it since ancient times. Mimicking a loved one would pose no problem to a demon. That's my view on it. Whether you believe what I say or not is up to you, however if your really trying to be a christian and believe me it will be hard, but I suggest you and your boyfriend not live together. That is what I believe and unlike my demon theory this has biblical backing, your main focus should be a relationship with Christ. If God chooses to set you up with someone then he will. Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. That's my two cents on that!

Greetings Jsara4403 and contrats and blessings on becoming a believer in Christ. There is no better decision that could be made in the this world.

Regarding ghosts, i.e. human spirits wandering the earth after death, what CeileDe has posted is correct. The word of God is clear in that, when a believer in Christ dies their spirit/soul departs from the body and goes to be in the presence of the Lord (See Philippians 1:23, 2 Corinthians 2:5:6-8). For those who die without Christ, their soul/spirt also departs from the body, but goes down into Hades, which is a temporary place of punishment of the unrighteous dead until the great white throne judgment, which takes place after thousand year reign of Christ - (See Luke 16:19-31, Revelation 20:11-15)

That said, anyone who is experiencing anything paranormal, it would be the activity of demonic beings. Scripture states that we are not to seek after mediums or spiritists , which would consist of using a Ouija Board, holding séances, tarot cards or tea leaves, paranormal investigators, ghost hunting, saging, which is a native American pagan practice, salt circles, etc. All of these are occult practices and have no affect on demonic beings whatsoever. Those who practice these things are committing sin by doing them and also invites demonic beings to encroach and oppress and even possess.

Now, one who is in Christ cannot be possessed, as they have the Holy Spirit dwelling in them. But, if a believer is involved with those things I believe that gives opportunity for demonic beings to oppress. If your boy friend is not in Christ and is engaging in any of those things he is putting himself in danger and it could affect you as well. Below are a couple of examples of demonic oppression and possession:

"They sailed to the region of the Gerasenes,c across the lake from Galilee. When Jesus stepped ashore, He was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time this man had not worn clothing or lived in a house, but he stayed in the tombs.
When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before Him, shouting in a loud voice, “What do You want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You not to torture me!” For Jesus had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was bound with chains and shackles, he had broken the chains and been driven by the demon into solitary places.

“What is your name?” Jesus asked.

“Legion,” he answered, because many demons had gone into him. And the demons kept begging Jesus not to order them to go into the abyss.

There on the hillside a large herd of pigs was feeding. So the demons begged Jesus to let them enter the pigs, and He permitted them.

Then the demons came out of the man and went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.

When those tending the pigs saw what had happened, they ran off and reported this in the town and countryside. So the people went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus and found the man whom the demons had left, sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. Meanwhile, those who had seen it told them how the demon-possessed man had been healed.

Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to depart from them, because great fear had swept over them. So He got into the boat and started back.

The man whom the demons had left begged to go with Jesus. But He sent him away, saying, “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went and proclaimed all over the town how much Jesus had done for him. (See Luke 8:26-39)

==========================================

"Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding." - (See Acts 19:13-16)

==========================================

If your boy friend is speaking with ghosts, it is not the spirits of dead people that he is talking to, but demonic beings. And they are not going to let him know who they are. The whole world has been and is deceived by this. Ghost hunters are just mediums and spiritists seeking after what they believe to be human spirits. And they call themselves experts, but they are nothing of the kind, for they believe that they encounter both human and demonic beings. No matter what they hear or see, they are only encountering one kind of being, which is demonic.

My advice to you is to separate yourself from that and also to have a talk with you boy friend because he could have demonic beings attached to his life, which he invited in.

As a new believer, you have a number of serious issues you need to deal with...
I'd recommend you get counseling from your pastor
.

1. You're a Christian in an intimate relationship outside of marriage.

This doesn't mean God hates you, or we hate you, it just means this violates scripture, and it's going to cause problems in your life until you resolve it.

2. You're a Christian in a serious relationship with a NON BELIEVER.

This also violates scripture, and is going to cause you problems until you resolve it.

3. Your boyfriend sees and talks to ghosts... which most Christians would identify as demonic spirits posing as something they are not.

A. There is scripture to support this position, and it's an orthodox position. Biblically, human spirits don't wander the earth, or come back to earth, after death. And the only spirits going around doing weird things, or deceiving people, are demonic spirits.

B. Many Christians would assess your boyfriend as a non-christian who's been involved with some kind of demonic activity for a long time (maybe unknowingly), and now some of this demonic activity may be manifesting itself in your home, and in your life. As a new believer, this is a very bad situation for you... you don't want demonic activity in your life. If you stay in this situation, it will eventually wreck you... demons are nothing to toy with.

Conclusion:

* Everyone has a lot of "issues" to deal with when they first become a Christian.
* This is normal.
* We had one kind of life in the past, and when we get saved, our lives go in a new direction.
* I recommend you get pastoral counseling, and if you don't have a pastor, it's easy to enough to join a church, and then ask the pastor for counseling.

Ghost is demonic, they could disguise themself into a family member so you believe that they are..

It is exist, some people with a 6th sense or with a bad luck could see it..

Fortunately i have a bad eyesight (-3), only use glasses for reading.. I hope i wont see it due of my bad eyesight..

By the way does by having a bad eyesight could prevent us from seeing ghost??? Just curious...
