So I've just recently become Christian this past summer.. I've never really believed in ghosts like actual dead people walking around earth I don't know if they are real or not. But lately things keep disappearing from my house then randomly appearing in places I've looked like a million times and the other day my boyfriend told me that ever since he was little he has been able to talk to ghosts and sense them and that there is one in our house. He told me about several times he saw ghosts and talked to them as a kid and as an adult. I don't really know what to think about all of this?
Greetings Jsara4403 and contrats and blessings on becoming a believer in Christ. There is no better decision that could be made in the this world.
Regarding ghosts, i.e. human spirits wandering the earth after death, what CeileDe has posted is correct. The word of God is clear in that, when a believer in Christ dies their spirit/soul departs from the body and goes to be in the presence of the Lord (See Philippians 1:23, 2 Corinthians 2:5:6-8). For those who die without Christ, their soul/spirt also departs from the body, but goes down into Hades, which is a temporary place of punishment of the unrighteous dead until the great white throne judgment, which takes place after thousand year reign of Christ - (See Luke 16:19-31, Revelation 20:11-15)
That said, anyone who is experiencing anything paranormal, it would be the activity of demonic beings. Scripture states that we are not to seek after mediums or spiritists , which would consist of using a Ouija Board, holding séances, tarot cards or tea leaves, paranormal investigators, ghost hunting, saging, which is a native American pagan practice, salt circles, etc. All of these are occult practices and have no affect on demonic beings whatsoever. Those who practice these things are committing sin by doing them and also invites demonic beings to encroach and oppress and even possess.
Now, one who is in Christ cannot be possessed, as they have the Holy Spirit dwelling in them. But, if a believer is involved with those things I believe that gives opportunity for demonic beings to oppress. If your boy friend is not in Christ and is engaging in any of those things he is putting himself in danger and it could affect you as well. Below are a couple of examples of demonic oppression and possession:
"They sailed to the region of the Gerasenes,
c across the lake from Galilee. When Jesus stepped ashore, He was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time this man had not worn clothing or lived in a house, but he stayed in the tombs.
When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before Him, shouting in a loud voice, “What do You want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You not to torture me!” For Jesus had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was bound with chains and shackles, he had broken the chains and been driven by the demon into solitary places.
“What is your name?” Jesus asked.
“Legion,” he answered, because many demons had gone into him. And the demons kept begging Jesus not to order them to go into the abyss.
There on the hillside a large herd of pigs was feeding. So the demons begged Jesus to let them enter the pigs, and He permitted them.
Then the demons came out of the man and went into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.
When those tending the pigs saw what had happened, they ran off and reported this in the town and countryside. So the people went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus and found the man whom the demons had left, sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. Meanwhile, those who had seen it told them how the demon-possessed man had been healed.
Then all the people of the region of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to depart from them, because great fear had swept over them. So He got into the boat and started back.
The man whom the demons had left begged to go with Jesus. But He sent him away, saying, “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went and proclaimed all over the town how much Jesus had done for him. (See Luke 8:26-39)

"Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding." - (See Acts 19:13-16)

If your boy friend is speaking with ghosts, it is not the spirits of dead people that he is talking to, but demonic beings. And they are not going to let him know who they are. The whole world has been and is deceived by this. Ghost hunters are just mediums and spiritists seeking after what they believe to be human spirits. And they call themselves experts, but they are nothing of the kind, for they believe that they encounter both human and demonic beings. No matter what they hear or see, they are only encountering one kind of being, which is demonic.
My advice to you is to separate yourself from that and also to have a talk with you boy friend because he could have demonic beings attached to his life, which he invited in.
