Ok, first things first let me try to outline this.

1. I don't know if this even the right board to post this topic so I apologize for those who already confused at this point.
2. This post is not me complaining. It's just opinion from me.
3. I love Christmas time.

Last Christmas I watched (most of) National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I understood about half of the comedy. My reaction to the film was very bitter/bad. I honestly felt as if I could only enjoy this film if I was on some kind of medication and recovering from being lost in a jungle for 5 months. Being conscious I really started to question if the actors in the film read about human behavior in the Sunday comics and then tried their best to scare each other. To me it was the closest thing to a horror movie in the creepiest way possible.

I believe that psychological disorders are real and this movie was about that subject. The setting just happens to be during Christmas time. Yes I am being a bit sarcastic but so is that cat over there so it all evens out. What do you all think about this movie if you have happend to see it?

Am I loosing my mind?

My favorite Christmas movie ever. As well as my dad's. Pretty much everyone I've ever met, and asked, loves the movie.

National lampoons Christmas movie?? O just heard that..I will google it

When you said christmas movie, on my mind it was:
Home Alone (my childhood movies)
The Grinch
A Christmas Carol

By the way my favorite is A Christmas Carol (animation, the voice of main character is Jim Carey), it brings good message into my life..
Also the Grinch (again Jim Carey), also teaches me to stop being bitter

Even though I agree with you that there are movies that maybe a Christian shouldn't watch. I don't agree with you telling others that they shouldn't watch it. Each Christians needs to determine what is right for them and settle it with the Lord. I for one like the home alone movies and find them rather funny. It is a comedy and in no way did I feel, as a kid, that I needed to rebel and do those things to my parents. My 7 year old son watches them and he has never had a need to do anything the kid did in the movie.

There are movies that I refuse to watch and in my house we are slowly doing away with TV all together. Just because I am doing this why do I have the right to suggest it to someone on here? This is something they need to work out themselves with the Lord.

Not at all.

It's totally normal to start a thread to ask others their opinions on old, 1989 Christmas movies in the middle of April.
I do it all of the time.

Kidding.
It's an awesome movie. I kind of get where you were going... but sometimes, ya just gotta kick back and let Chevy Chase do his thing.
