So I became a Christian last July... But ever since then literally everything in my life has gone from bad to worse. Then on top of that ive been having doubts and i don't know what to do anymore... I KNOW I felt something that night I accepted Christ, but sometimes I think maybe I just wanted to believe and feel something so bad my mind made it up... I try praying but I feel like I'm just talking to myself. I try reading the Bible but I just can't focus I end up reading the same sentence over and over and still not know what it said. There's not really anyone in my life I can talk to I don't really know what to do or even what I believe in anymore..

You dont have to listen to me. But get baptist with fire and receive the holy spirit. The problem is you are clean from your sins and thats all. If yo dont get filled with the holy spirit you will lose what little knowledge you have. Gods word said he would take that you have and give to another

Here's the bad news: before Jesus ascended, He told His disciples "In this world you WILL have trouble." Not might, WILL.

Now for the good news: "But be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world."

It is a mistake to believe that after being saved, life will be perfect. It won't. But He will be with you all the way.

If you think you may not be saved, you can be saved right now. Just talk to Him and tell Him what you posted here, and tell Him if you were never saved, you'd like to be saved now.

The Bible says that if you believe in your heart that Jesus was crucified and rose from the dead, and confess with your mouth, you will be saved.

Do you go to church? Hopefully you will be able to develop fellowship ties with your fellow congregants. Do they have teaching nights? Bible studies? Any kinds of programs for singles or teens or young adults, or even people in general, some support system, anything? If you don't know, find out. If you have not been going to church, start. If you find you do not like the first one you try, go to another. Is there is anything to stop you from going to two church services on a Sunday at different churches? I did that when I was new :D Have you gone through the Alpha course?

Don't worry about doubts. Doubts are normal and can in fact strengthen your faith. I would encourage you to read some books by Lee Strobel such as The Case for Faith and The Case for Christ. I would encourage you to read some other apologetic books too. Look up videos on the reliability of the bible or whatever doubts that you have. And I agree that you should receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In the book of Acts people received the Spirit through the laying on of hands and prayer. One evidence of receiving the Spirit is speaking in tongues. You will see that in the book of Acts people spoke in tongues when they received the Spirit. If you want the Holy Spirit then have a mature Christian lay hands on you and pray for you to receive the Spirit. Then open your mouth and try to speak in tongues. If you have believed in the deity of Christ and his death and resurrection by the power of God and have asked the Lord Jesus to forgive you and save you then you are a Christian. I truly believe that getting filled with the Spirit may help you. It helped me in that I could call God Father when before I could not do that with confidence. But after I was prayed for, I was comfortable calling God Father and I wondered why I was so comfortable with that when before I was not. I guess it puzzled me a bit. Don't be afraid to ask people questions you have about the bible. If some push you aside because of your questions, that is their problem not yours. Keep on asking and looking into the questions you have. If you want you can private message me about what is on your mind. I can also pray for you if you want prayer for anything.

the world hates us, and always will. Jesus told us that. it hated him before it hated us. not because they did not understand, but because it affected their way of life, the power, the riches, the fun,and many other things.

John 12:25
Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

John 15:19
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

James 4:4
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

1 John 2:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

2 Corinthians 12:10
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

1 Corinthians 4:11
Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place; [SUP]12 [/SUP]And labor, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: [SUP]13 [/SUP]Being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the off scouring of all things unto this day. [SUP]14 [/SUP]I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you."

Matthew 5:3
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Luke 6:20
“Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. 22 Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. 23 “Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets. 24 “But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. 25 Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep. 26 Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.

Matthew 10:22
You will be hated by everyone because of Me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Philippians 1:21
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith

1 Thessalonians 3:7
Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith. 8 For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord.

Matthew 13
18 “Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: 19 When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. 20 The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. 21 But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 22 The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, making it unfruitful. 23 But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

As a new believer you will face hard times because while you are early in faith satan knows its better to try and pluck the root while its small than try and wait until its roots have grown deep and strong.

Satan wont give up but as you persevere and strive to mature in the Lord you will begin to use the armor of God to fight off evil and you will get better at being able to see the attacks of satan and can counter them faster.

Becoming a Christian isn't going to magically make your life on this planet much easier. In fact if its becoming harder, most likely you're on the right track.

Matthew;21; 21-22; Jesus answered and said unto them,Verily I say unto you,if ye have faith, and doubt not,ye shall not only do this which is done unto the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain,be thou removed, and be cast into the sea,it shall be done. 22;And all things ,whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing,ye shall receive. Doubt must go and never return,or you receive nothing from God,and that includes spiritual gifts. If you have faith to believe in God,then you should have faith to believe in what he can do.As a grain of mustard seed is all the faith you need to get started, and it grows from that point.

So I became a Christian last July... But ever since then literally everything in my life has gone from bad to worse.

This simply proves that what Jesus taught in Mark 4:13-20... is true.

Ya gotta spend time in God's Word looking at His promises concerning what it means to be a Christian and who you are now, and choose to not allow God's Word to be stolen from you by doubting.

It helps to speak God's promises and to give Him praise and thanks frequently that what He says about you is true, right now!

2 Corinthians 5:17-21

If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; L00K, all things are become new.
And all things are of God, Who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
To know, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be reconciled to God.
For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Romans 12:1,2
I declare to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your body a living sacrifice, Holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service....and be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (understanding, vision), that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

2 Corinthians 6:16,17
And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people....Therefore come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. (in the OT see: Exodus 29:45-46, Ezekiel 37:27)

The Father's purpose for creating mankind was / is to be with us, and share Himself with us!
(see: 2 Corinthians 6:16,17, Ezekiel 37:27, Leviticus 26:12, Zechariah 2:10-11, Psalms 68:17-18, Isaiah 12:6, Psalm 46:4-7, Revelations 21:3, Luke 1:68, John 1:10-14, Ephesians 2:7)

Ephesians 1:17-19
The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him....the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance is in the Saints....and what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.

Ephesians 3:17-20
Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love....may be able to comprehend with all Saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height....and to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge to you, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God....Glory unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

Galatians 3:13-14
Jesus Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law (of sin and death), being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangs on a cross....that the blessing of Abraham would come on the gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Romans 8:16,17
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the Children of God....and if Children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:29-31
For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren....moreover who He did predestinate, them He also called: and those He called, them He also justified: and those He justified, them He also glorified....what shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Hebrews 4:14-16
We have a great High Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession (confession of the promises in the Covenant)....for we have not an High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin....let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

1 John 4:16-19
We have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him....herein is our love made perfect (mature, grown up), that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world....there is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has torment. He that fears is not made perfect (mature, grown up) in love....we love Him, because He first loved us.

Matthew 11:28-30
Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest....take my yoke (obligation to serve, and walk with God) upon you, and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest unto your souls....for My yoke is easy (gracious and kind), and My burden (service) is light (the Glory of God, the Holy Spirit, the anointing).

Isaiah 41:10,11
Fear not; for I am with you: be not dismayed; for I am your God: I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness....Behold (Look!), all they that were incensed against you shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with you shall perish.

1 Thessalonians 5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 4:9-11
There remains therefore a rest to the people of God....for he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His....let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Joshua 1:8-9
This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success....Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be discouraged: for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.
