i can answer that question. Yes masturbation is a Sin but a person cannot overcome it through effort.
I tried and it came back worst. the Idea is to starve the flesh from this desire. How does one starve it ::
One can stop looking at pornography, or other stuff you see on the computer, the filth you see it on TV, On magazines, on the street, you listen on the radio, hear from friends at work, school, and stuff that you think about when you mind drifts away. You must starve the flesh only then the Spirit can prevail. Once the spirit has control you must nurture the Spirit through prayer trying to develop a relationship with God will allow in to experience Gods presence on one's life and this will give a person Joy. This joy and intimacy with the creator will replace the joy you get from the flesh not only from masturbating but from other things. This will not kill the flesh, the flesh will only die when you die. the urges will subside but a need for sexual intimacy and pleasure will remain. When a person is half asleep and weak and the urges come, immediately ask God to fill you with his spirit, and the Spirit of God will overcome the flesh. Pure effort will not work But the holy Spirit will. Btw i came here looking for some post about dating or something, I need a girlfriend hehe.
God Bless you all
Hmmmmm,

I'm so glad this topic was out there. I'm beginning to realize it is a sin. At first, I really didn't think anything of it, but now that I begin to read my bible more and more I see that it is, with the little things. I definitely can't say I haven't dealt with this problem before. But what I always seem to struggle with is do other bible verses overpower others. It says in the bible all the people who wont enter the kingdom of heaven, like homosexuals and thieves and idolizers , yet it also says God forgives all sins.

Nothing wrong with masturbation. And if you're creeped out with the fact that God can see you do it, remember He'll also see your wedding night... and considering the fact that He's seen everything everyone in the world has ever done, I don't think there's anything you or anyone can do that will shock Him anymore lol

God does tells us not indulge ourselves in things that will make make him sad with us. try as much as possible to avoid anything that makes you desire to do such an act. God bless

Jesus does not want for you to masturbate...In the book of Ephsians the Spirit of God says that He has given us a Spirit of self control. By masturbating you are committing a sin agaist your own body. Again in the book of Ephesians God says that your body is not of yours. He says that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. When you sin against your body, you grieve the Holy Spirit. In the Gospel Jesus says that there is a sin that will not be forgivin...that sin...grieving the Holy Spirit. Jesus purchased your spirit, soul, and body...you owe him your life. He said many people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. He also said that many people say that they love him, but they do not do what he say. I looked at many of the post that people responded to when you asked this question. Many of them are offering their opinions, but when it comes to your eternal soul...you dont need opinions, you need the truth...Jesus " I am the truth, the way, and the life. No one comes to the Father, but by me"

Bottom line IMO is that one cannot masturbate without having sinful thoughts. Which is the problem with it. The bible doesn't say don't masturbate however it does say even your thoughts being sinful is a problem. Since these two go hand in hand it would be wrong to think it is ok to do so.

I just want to say, I struggled with this very topic for a long time. I believe if its an addiction it is a sin to God.
Also while you are doing it, what images are going through your mind??? If you thinking of nude chicks its wrong man!!!!!
We read in Matthew 5:28. That if anyone looks at a women with lustful thoughts has already committed adultery.
Satan is the 1 who is saying in your head that its not that bad but who do you want to listen to??? satan or Jesus Christ

Is it a sin? Yes. Should it be? No. I know this Muslim boy who struggles with this very thing. He shared with me that he masturbated for the first time in a long, long time and he felt so ashamed afterward. He could'nt take the guilt. He prayed for hours. I just felt really bad for him. It doesnt really seem like a smart thing not to do. For boys, a lack of sexual release can cause testicular cancer and other problems. Medically, it's considered healthy. And that's only physically speaking. There are a number of benefits psychologically. Repression is never good. It can only lead to social akwardness, and if someone is already unstable, I believe it could accidentally even lead to rape. It's not that they even necessarily mean to. Boys can be driven crazy by that kind of thing. So can girls. And scientifically there is absolutely NO other use for the clitoris. No other use than for sexual stimulation. That tell's mean that God made us have one for a reason...to use it! I think people should enjoy themselves and make themselves happy. God want's you to be happy. It makes you sleep better when you masturbate. It burns calories. It feels wonderful. Why would that be wrong? There is not one negative thing that can come from it. It's certainly safer than sex. You can't catch any STDs. You can't get pregnant. It makes you more relaxed and no longer restless. It's seriously like all good things. How is that bad?

I see your point. But while you doing it, Where exactly is your mind at that moment????
I'm not sure if it says anything about it in the bivle. but it says that if you even look at a women/man with lustful thoughts its the same as committing adultery

I can't give you a quote, but I'm 99% sure that it DOES say somewhere in the Bible that masturbation is a sin. Or if it doesnt, we were taught in Catholic school that it was a sin. But I ask you this: Is thinking a sin? Some people believe only actions are sins. You can't help something that pops into your mind. I think Christians believe that it's okay if something sinful pops in your head. You can't help that. You can't just shut your brain off. It's if you dwell on it makes it a sin. But really, and I don't mean to start an arguement, but this is one of the problems I have. I've been struggling with my faith. My family is worried that I've turned away from God. Some of it just really doesnt make sense to me. I would much rather some guy masturbate if they have to (even if it includes watching porn or thinking nasty thoughts about someone) I would much rather that then go on a date with him and have him rape me or have all this tension build up and can't even act normal. Acting like an animal or something. Release is good. Pent up repression = bad to me. But a lot of people probably disagree with this.

u right, we cant just shut our brain off. and it is written dat we most love God with our heart, our strength, our soul n our thought. but im agreed with u dat we cannot shut our brain off. and God knows dat, he knows our weakness. so, if someone has in his mind things dat dont please Him, this someone needs ask Him forgiveness n strength 2 surpass it. God will always forgive a sincere heart. this person cant just stay sayin dat he cant just shut his mind off, he must pray God 2 help him 2 avoid puttin things dat He does not like in his mind as often as possible because, only by himself, he just cant.

all things are overcome by Christ. even the "repression" of sexual angst. This type of thing is put into our heads by society, "its ok" its no big deal, youll get sick if you dont do it. i know plenty of people who stay healthy and not do this. this subject is one of the hardest i think males have to overcome for God. especially if they came to faith not too long ago. i struggle with it sometimes to be quite honest, i feel horrible afterwards, and thats not a shame, the fact that i dont feel happy after is proof to me that it is a vanity of the flesh and I can be satisfied in Christ alone and nothing else under the sun.

I honestly don't feel bad at all if I do. And I want it to stay that way! lol It would be terrible to me if I had to live like that. But to each his own.

ey Michelle :) I see what your point is and i understand your view, I know we cant switch our brains off but we can atleast try and stop those thoughts and stop it before it comes a habit and ends up very bad. I know you say each 1 for themselves and I agree with you but I belieave when you a Christian and you really really serious about your faith, you shouldn't do something that wont please God.
God Bless :)
