Im 22 years old and still live my parents, i have a job and an assocites degree. (Though my current job has nothing to do with my degree). i have anxiety and depression caused by it, i have been taking meds to help lessen the anxiety to the point i can be content at least. Point is i dont have a license, or a car, and havent been looking much for progress for a job in my degree, because my anxiety/depression keeps getting to me. I want it to stop, if i could wish it away if i could but i know any progress will take time.

Any advice or prayers you guys have i apprecite greatly.

(P.s. i know i probably butcher my grammar lol)

I'm confused. You have a degree in a field, but not a job in that field.
This causes you anxiety.
So you remain out of that field because of the anxiety?
But not being in the field causes you anxiety?
Add to that no car or license nor any effort to get them.
If I understand that correctly that's some excellent self sabotage.

If you are not actively seeking the root cause of the anxiety then it will never go away. There's something specific, often times not what we think it is, at the core of your anxiety.
As long as you remain unwilling to deal with things you can't expect to get better.

By the way, I've dealt with anxiety for 10 years and depression for 25.

Our LORD JESUS CHRIST says, "... Do not be anxious about Life... (Matthew 6:25-34)". So my dear brother, Do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day's own trouble be sufficient for the day.

This is what you should do my brother. Say or confess this to yourself always, "The LORD is my Shepherd, I refuse to be anxious. I refuse to be anxious about anything in life."

Declare this always and the anxiousness will leave you.

Thanks be to GOD for HE cares for us so much.
JESUS IS LORD OF ALL.

The anxiety comes from your priorities being mixed up. If your hope is the job, and your hope for the job is greater than your hope in the cross and it becomes a greater thing in your heart than Jesus and the cross, then the fruit will be anxiety, depression, and petrification. Relax. Breathe. You're young, your whole life is ahead of you, and every day is a promise and filled with opportunities to do well. If doors are closing, focus on what you can be doing. Do well at your job. Get into the Bible, and let the cross of Jesus Christ be your first and last hope. Do not trust in vanity or the works of your hands, for these things are temporary and will pass, but the kingdom of God will remain. Let your dreams be crucified with him. Has He not already done a completed work in you, a completed work established from the foundations of the Earth? And will He not bring that work forth in His perfect timing? Even so, let Him be your first hope above all things, and let every other hope, dream, and ambition be crucified. You just do your best in perfect peace and joy with what's been given to you to do here and now, and let this be lifted up as a living sacrifice unto the Lord. Here are a couple of links I encourage you to check out that really drill in what you need to be doing, and in the meantime, I'll be in deep prayer for you, praying for you in the same breath that I pray for myself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTd9l2dJN98

The Lord knows your weaknesses, your heart, your mind, your going out and coming in. It may be that there are deeper things related to this anxiety, and only abiding in Christ and repenting will bring it to the surface where He will reveal what it is, so that it may be repented of and you may be delivered, like earwax bubbling to the surface when our ears are cleaned out. In the meantime, be of good courage. Put one foot in front of the other, and focus on walking a steady pace, with your gaze fixed firmly upon the cross of Christ. I love you dearly, brother, and pray with all my heart that you do well. I stand with you shoulder to shoulder, and whenever you need someone, I pray that the Lord has already surrounded you with His faithful ministers, and you have your family first and foremost. I hope to be counted among these that may be a help to you, because there's no greater joy and honor than laying down my life at the feet of the cross and of His children. Anyway, there's an album I like to listen to whenever I feel anxious and/or overwhelmed. God be with you brother. God cover you with peace, and fill your heart with love. The tears and prayers I've lifted up for myself I offer to you. So, here's the album. It's called In Christ Alone. Love you, bro :D : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZKm6-3d7Bw

What is stopping you from getting a drivers license? You have a job so you should be able to afford a reliable used car and insurance. I would focus first on getting the license. It's no big deal, millions have done this before you. As it is now, without your own transportation you are a prisoner limited to wherever a city bus may go or places within walking distance.

Regardless of the type of associates degree you have that is an accomplishment in itself. Are you anxious that your current work situation is not utilizing your degree? I'm sure that many aspects of what you have learned are being utilized everyday without you even realizing it. One option is to consider military service entering a field that is related to your degree if this is truly important to you.

Like most people, you have to face your fears each day and put aside the anxiety. God is with you and has paved the way before you. Step out in faith.

Glad to have you join us. Welcome to CC.
