Default Please pray for me as I seek to live a better life

Hello. I would like to ask for your prayers for me to live a better more victorious life.

I've been addicted to cocaine for a few years now secretly. And I've been very foolish when I'm on it. It makes me do things I shouldn't. It makes me feel like rubbish. It makes me sin more than the sin of doing it itself.

    Well enough's enough! I hope.

From today on I'm going to try my hardest to quit doing it. I'm going to quit taking it and letting it control my actions and thoughts.

I'm going to take control of them and my life from now on. And start living a better life. A life free from this addiction. No more again.

From now on I truly will thank God for each morning I wake up where I haven't done that sin any more. And at the end of each day I haven't too.

I just want to be stronger and wiser. More responsible and mature. That is it. Just never to again repeat the same old sins. I'm putting them all at the foot of the cross right here and now!

    And leaving them there.

So I ask with hope. Please pray for me that I may make this happen and come about.

Just say my name on here and God will know who you're praying for.

I really need to do this else I'm only going to get worse and not better!

    Thank you so much!

I'll update this thread in a few weeks maybe.

    Cheers guys!

    God bless all of us.

I will keep you in my prayers, and also, if you can decide you shouldn't take cocaine, then with that will, I believe you can overcome your addiction

    Acts 2:38New International Version (NIV)

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

I am for sure going to pray for you! This will be a tough challenge, but I can tell by your post you have the courage to make it work. Have you considered joining an "Overcomers" type group at your church? I've heard people generally find great success when they belong to a group of people who are working to overcome similar type addictions because they can share with each other what works and what doesn't work, fellowship together, pray for each other, talk to each other, and finally hold each other accountable. If you need help finding a church or an organization like this in your local area, feel free to PM me. I can provide an excellent resource to get you pointed in the right direction. Hang in there and stay strong.

Father in Heaven, you are an all-wise and all-loving God who continues to pursue us with a love that is beyond anything we can comprehend. I pray for my friend who is reaching out to you in faith, and with hope, trusting that you want to restore her heart, her mind, her body, and her spirit. I pray you will surround her now, and be her protection, and keep your grip on her as she seeks to make good choices that will help her overcome these obstacles. Please give her the strength she needs to renew her mind in Christ Jesus, and help her escape the lies from the enemy of her soul. We love you Jesus, and thank you for the price you paid on the cross to redeem us from all our unrighteousness. I hope is found in you. Amen

I would like to apologize to you for not looking more closely to your profile. I see that you are a male and I referred to you as female. My bad. Please accept my apology.

Yes being thankful is an awesome to start the day. What a blessing that you no longer want cocaine, but desire Jesus instead! I would encourage you to find a Bible teaching church and get yourself plugged into a men’s ministry. You will be blessed. I receive strength each day, when I spend time with the Lord. Daily be in prayer (reminding yourself what an awesome God we serve; confession, God already knows how we fall short, but He is waiting for you to tell Him; continue in thankfulness for all things; and of course supplication, let God know what your needs are, be specific!
Along with being in prayer (you talking with God); Let God speak to you through his word. Each and every day spend a few minutes reading God’s word. Remember His word is powerful and able to change men’s hearts. You may want to start in the book of Galatians. It will teach you how to walk by faith and not by sight. Finally remember to be obedient. God always blesses obedience. Remember Jesus left us the Holy Spirit to help us- He is our helper.
These two verses have brought me great peace when it seems crazy things occur in my life.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
It will be health to your flesh, And strength to your bones.
    Proverbs 3:5-8

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
    Phiippians 4: 6-8
