.............................................

believe the Gospel, fill your mind with the Word of Jesus Christ daily, pray often, and ask the Lord to cleanse your Heart.

and realize that yesterday is behind, tomorrow is not yet, and Gods desire is that you walk today with Him....and tomorrow, its the same. One day at a time Bro. you cant change whats behind, but you can realize Jesus died for the Lust of the Past, and offers New Life today in His word that will never fail to lead to Life eternal in the presence of God.

Mant think that Gods Word, isnt important, But His Word in your Mind will wash the stains away and redecorate your heart with the things of God. the things you are meant for. everything begins with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. .....God bless and I wish to simply encourage you to understand God isnt looking to condemn a single soul for yesterday, but to bring a soul to life today. ask the Lord in prayer to forgive whatever is on your heart, and trust that it is His desire to forgive you Hope in the Lords goodness and Love for you. and seek Him with some time each day and He will work miracles inside your mind and Heart.

amen Joe, lust was one of my biggest obstacles, plainly i was an adulterer that followed Lust in most every way possible. along with about any other sinful thing one can think of short of murder and blasphemy. like ur saying here it begins internally. if someone is full of Lust , what are they feeding thier mind? for instance we cant on one hand gwt rid of Lust if were spending time watching porn, or even staring at the " great body" of every woman we pass or Know. we really have the power to think about what we want to think about, and feed our minds with the things we want to feed them with.

I used to think i just thought what i thought and had no power to control my mind, until i realized i do control what i think about and Have the option to look at whatever is good and wholesome and that feeds the good things in the mind and those thoughts become dominant. the More a person is staring at the Light, the less darkness has opportunity to exist and flourish. rather than us fighting against the bad thought always, it works wonders to instead look to the good things and ponder those things and then you find the ba things sort of Lose thier power to entice and deceive and control.

Now days I see a beautiful Woman, and i Look at Her as a beloved and precious child of God, a sister, a friend. and I know where that came from was filling my mind with Gods Word and believing it brought me to repentance because I believed what Jesus said of Lust, it solved my problem of sinful actions that come from renewed Knowledge about Lust inwardly. if we solve the inner problem, the actions follow without fail.

Im reminded of the Old indian proverb of the two Wolves within us, One is Light, and One is dark and they are opposed and struggle against one another. the old indian asks " which wolf will win the fight?" and then answers His question " which ever wolf you feed will be stronger and win the victory" we feed the spirit which is in conflict with the nature of flesh, and the spirit wins the victory.

Not to be argumentative but marriage doesn't fix all lust.
It will help curb the appetite that makes the lust unbearable but I know plenty of married people who lust and lust after people besides who they are married to. Its an issue of the heart not just the physical stuff.

As far as the op is concerned 2 Corinthians 10:5 gives that answer.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God,
and take every thought captive to obey Christ
All the answers and power you need are found through Christ and allowing Him to conform your life and thoughts.

Valid point. But I think most men have this mentality “If I can’t be with the one I love, then love the one I’m with.” I think with a lot of men, one woman is just as good as another. Interchangeable.

It is alright to be argumentative. I am argumentative, myself.

we can really even lust after our spouse, lust is a terribly powerful and deceptive thing. so many perversions have come forth in the World many sexual perversions were created as ways to worship false gods. Lust drives terrbile things such as a married man molesting His child, its the lust that drives that person.

that said paul actually says the same you did so thats One big Help to a person struggling with Lust, the Lust can actually be overcome to where Our hearts that once chased it and yielded to the lust, learn to hate Lust because its the source of what placed Our beloved savior on the cross. Lust doesnt have to be sexual, we can lust for money, possessions, power, popularity ect.

Lusting for your spouse is perfectly acceptable and biblical. I think it makes God happy when two of His creatures love each other. I use the book Song of Solomon as my reference. God created us to be sexual beings.

Let’s be real. Winerose’s advice is really practical. No one can “get rid of lust” short of getting married and having an outlet. Most people are sexual beings. God designed us this way. I don’t think people should eradicate normal desire, but find a mate and behave as God intended.

That is one thing that people are tempted a lot by is lusting after the opposite sex, which I am talking from the perspective of a Christian, for the world can go in either direction without the Spirit, for who knows what they will do from day to day,for that is what Satan tempts people a lot is with sex, which you see it in movies, television, the music industry, and in every day life.

Which it seems as if America cannot do anything without having sex attached to it,as in many instances.

Act 15:19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
Act 15:20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

Act 15:28 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;
Act 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

1Co 6:13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
1Co 6:14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
1Co 6:15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
1Co 6:16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
1Co 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
1Co 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

You see that what was told to the Gentiles what to abstain from because it is high on God's list of things they should not do,which fornication was a big one, because our body belongs to the Lord, and it should be clean, and undefiled, and fornication, having sex without marriage really corrupts their relationship with God by making their body an unclean thing.

That is why Satan tempts people so much with sexuality, and you can see it everywhere, for it really hinders people from having a relationship with God,and if we lust after someone it is the same as doing the act which makes it worse for then it is easier to fall victim to that sin.

Do I lust after a woman, which I cannot lie,for I tend to look a little longer at a woman than I should if she is very beautiful, but it does not last long for I have to stop rather fast because that is one thing about me is it makes me ashamed, and I never liked treating women,or looking at them like they are a material object to be oogled over like a nice looking, souped up car.

But we tend to get tempted at times.

But sexuality is what Satan tempts people a lot with because it is so important to God for people to abstain from it,for not only is the lust bad,but fornication is about satisfying self,so it is a selfish motive as well, but marriage is an agreement, and commitment, between 2 people to care for each other in all their needs.

1Co 7:9 But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

Like it was mentioned, get married, for the temptation of the opposite sex is a big temptation among people, and if it bothers you that much, and you have a problem, get married.

1Co 7:1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
1Co 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
1Co 7:3 Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
1Co 7:4 The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
1Co 7:5 Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.

Oh,a wife does not have power over her own body, but should yield it unto her husband, which all the men in the dog houses would like to use this scripture against their wives. But of course people fight more, and have a lot more to fight about in today's world, and people are more on the selfish side then in time past, and do not get along as great as they did years ago,so more people are in the dog houses these days.

Can't we all just get along, and then there would not be so much cheating going on.

To avoid fornication,get married.

That is the best solution, get married if you have that much of a problem with it,for you cannot hold unto lusting, and maybe committing the act,for then you do not have a relationship with God for your body is unclean, and defiled.

Or here is another solution, although not so popular among the males.

Jesus said if a body part offends you,cut it off,for it is better to enter heaven maimed, than to have the part that offends you,and be lost.

So you always have that option.LOL.

Which one will you choose to stop your lusting.Marriage or cut it off.

Yes, I did. Let’s be real and not pious. Most people are sexual, therefore experience lust. God made us this way. He would be cruel to make us lusty and then condemn us for being so. God is not cruel. He meant for men and women to be married and enjoy one another. This is His gift to mankind (one of them). It is ridiculous to think a person can “get rid of lust”. Even people with Down’s Syndrome experience feelings of sexuality, and no one is more pure minded or innocent than a Down’s Syndrome person. So, there are two choices (1) get married and channel lust toward your spouse as God intended (2) kill yourself. Those are the only ways to “get rid of lust”. Of course, if you can not be married for whatever reason, you must live with lust- but I think God understands if you tried to gt married and do as He wishes, but it didn’t work out for whatever reason. I honestly think God is less concerned by a person being lusty than a person gossiping. Especially if that person is involuntarily celibate.
