When we were born into this world, the Bible says we were slaves to sin. Our spirits were dead to Christ and we had no way of knowing or experiencing true spiritual freedom by having a personal relationship with God, without fear. When Jesus came to save us, the Bible says that as much as His blood brought us into a place of a right relationship with God, it also saved us from ever having to fear His wrath. Some mistake reverential fear of God, for being afraid of Him. When we reverence Him, we hold Him in the highest regard and deeply respect and honor Him for Who He is.

In 2 Timothy 1:7, Jesus Himself said that in Him, we have not being given a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind. Yet, so many Christians still live in fear of doing something that would make God annoyed or angry with them. They fear that they may provoke Him to punish them somehow for a sin they might commit. But to think that way would be to insult His powerful, loving nature, and the finished work of the cross.

Romans 5:9 says we have been saved from ever being in fear of being punished by God, or suffering under His hand in any way. Sin has consequences of its own. We can be sure to reap misery and destruction when we willingly choose to partake in it. But that is not by the hand of God, it's by our own foolish decisions. Today, decide to see God for Who He really is, based on the truth of His Word. Because of the blood of Jesus, He is not, nor ever will be, angry with you (Isaiah 54:9).

Fear comes from the devil. GOD loves you so much.
