Pastor problems. My pastor is running my age group away from church. He does not allow us to do anything. He is also cutting us down and saying things like the word is not in us. All we want to do is be in charge and push the old people out of the way. Then when we get in leadership we don't do anything with it. My age group is 35-55. He also makes consistent statements like "I'm the pastor, I control everything around here, the grass, the ants obey my voice, and I have control over the weather. Because I have the word in me. He is constantly throwing his wife under the bus. All his sermons he prints directly from the internet, and preach verbatim. (of course he changes names), not any reference dates. there are nothing by augments around the church in meetings. Please help me understand this personality.

He's a fake getting off on being in a position of power. Pretty well known that many enter pastoral positions, not for Their faith, but a steady paycheck.
Don't know why you haven't left already.

The reason why I have not left. I serve on the choir and I love to minister through song. I have been here since 1999. I love my church.

He’s a Pasta lol sounds like you should seriously re-evaluate whether this is the right church for you sis.

Pray to God and ask for His guidance in this one. I will be praying for you too.

I would be seriously worried about a pastor who kept throwing his
wife under the bus!

Is she still alive or is that just a saying?

Perhaps its a miracle. He does it whenever anyone threatens to leave to prove his authority lol

I'm going to recommend 3 books for you to read.. (1) The Character Word of the Church by Joe Thorn, (2) Word Centered Church by Jonathan Leeman (3) The Compelling Community ( where God's power makes a church attractive ) by Mark Dever and Jamie Dunlap.
Just curious, how do you know he gets all his sermons from the internet ?

You must be very careful in where you go if a place like this has a bad environment i would leave. You may see his title as a pastor but clearly he is not what he claims to be...who knows what changed him to become that way. I would consider that you should look elsewhere and never return unless he changes his rude, selfish, egotistic demeanor. Also you should pray for him instead of talking about him :O have a nice day :)

Hi, you can be part of the choir in other churches and still minister through song. Our loyalty is not to the pastor or our choir. Prayerfully consider going to other church where you can also grow and serve, and you dont have to abruptly leave this church. But you will see the difference in the kind of pastors and preachers who may be better able to help you.

Btw welcome, wannab.
