This is a piece that really stuck in my mind after reading it. its from the book I Kissed Dating Goodbye by Joshua Harris. ^_^

We may never model high fashion in New York or Paris, but as Christians we Model God's love to the world. Understanding this role profoundly affects our approach to relationships, especially our dating relationships. When dating, we represent God's love, not only to the other person in the relationship, but also to the people watching us.

As Christians, we need to remember that God's perfect love is not only for our benefit. A model wears clothing to attract attention to the designer's creativity. The model displays the designer's work, but the designer's reputation, not the model's, is on the line. In the same way, as Christians, we model God's love, whether or not we realize it. people watch us, and what they see affects God's reputation for loving his creation. If we claim to follow Christ then wear this world's twisted style of love, we drag the name and character of our lord in the dirt.

For this reason, we must ask ourselves, "am I modeling the love of Christ? Do my motivations and actions in this relationship reflect the perfect love God has shown me?" How would you answer those questions right now?

nice post, i have been with my gf for 2 years, we are both saved. and at times it is hard to show that love and keep yourself in the right frame of mind. one thing i noticed though is when we both focus on God and the Gospel our relationships becomes very smooth. God Bless.

This is really true.
Before and after our days we should reflect on Gods word to see if or if not we put on Jesus Christ for the day. This can be really difficult to do in a honest frame of mind. If we spent our time wisely or if we wasted it on our self.

It's true people do watch us, and as christians we must live an upright life, the image of Jesus must be seen in us. We must be models of Gods love for the world to see. If we profess to follow God and live a life style of pagans what will people think? How are we show casing Jesus? We drag the name of Jesus down and thats terrible. We are living in a fallen world, but let us not fall with this world but stand out as children of the Most High GOD.
