i think i am not only speaking for myself when i say that sometimes it is very hard to spread the word of Christ to friends and family. it is hard to overcome our nerves and put our pride aside and step forward in faith. i opened this topic to share stories, give ideas, and maybe give support for people who need some helpful pointers. ill start by asking for some advice, i am having a hard time reaching a 19 yr old kid who thinks he knows it all and is living the fast life. i try to show him the right way to life but i only see him at work for a few hours and then it goes in one ear and out the other. it is almost hard for him to understand obeying someone above him, and church is not just to go to look good. he parties 4 times a week like most people at that age, but im trying to break him away from it. any tips on how to reach him? i pray about it and pray for him all the time. God is never late so i will continue to share the gospel with him in hopes that one day God will open his heart. thanks in advance and i hope this topic helps!

First of all.
Romans 8:5-8
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Never focus on outward. Read verse 7
If this person is not a child of God then this person is not subject to God. Satan is his father! I learned from my experience you need to focus fully and directly on God. That is all that matters. Showing someone the right way to live and giving them rules to follow will FAIL because rules do not make you Godly. He needs to see the joy of the Lord and you need to pray. When I first saw Christianity I saw a book of rules, very unpleasing and boring.
But now I see it as a guideline for life, how to live to my fullest. See the difference? Show him your Faith is not just rules to you but a enjoyable way to live your life. His outward actions are a result of his INWARD condition! Attack the inward, because fixing outward does not fix inward.
You have first of all a JOB to give this kid the gospel. After you give him the gospel wait for chances to give your faith more. Life your faith with confidence and joy. MAKE HIM WANT what you have.
So basically you need to give him the gospel and by how you live your life show him your way is more altogether enjoyable. show him theres more to life with how you live yours.

i agree with you, i just try and remember matthew 28:19-20, im an evangelist so my main focus is spreading the gospel. "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

i'm 20 and i have a 18 year old brother who is doing EVERYTHING he can to "live his own life" hes about to graduate but he recently got a reality check and realized just how bad he was messing up. with kids like him they think they know it all and what ever you're saying doesn't matter cause there are plenty of other ppl living just the way he wants to and are doing just fine. all you can do is whisper seeds of what God wants for their life and hope that they understand.

life is too good for them so they're gonna have to fall on their face first and see that everything that you told them was right. but you have to make sure you don't push them cause the bible does seem like a book of rules. but make the things you say make sense. like how having sex before marriage is a sin to protect us from the pain that it causes outside of marriage. STD's, emotional attachment, and children. the world says its ok to have sex as long as you don't end up with any of these symptoms. and drinking isn't ok cause you loose control of yourself. you'll end up doing things that you'll regret. and things like that.

but ultimately you can't sound like some authority figure cause thats what rebellious kids hate the most. someone telling them what to do. my mom and dad do that PLENTY for my brother. so i'm the sister that listen to what he has to say and just say the same thing my parents do in a nicer way. he doesn't listen to me usually but its slowly going in. i can see it. ^_^. good luck with your guy.

I have read your conversation. You guys are really hot for Jesus! True things that you said. We have to make other non-christians WANt what we have. They really are not interested in rules of living a christian life. This is an eye-opener to a lot of us.

Yes I agree I just got done reading Romans chapter 12-14 last night ...
We must continue to walk in spirit and have a spirtual mind keeping ur faith in the lord Jesus Christ I know they are watching and seeing the joy that we have in God...I am so blessed to be able to be a young woman and daughter for the lord Jesus Christ I have lived in the way of the flesh and as a result to that I am only 20years old and now have a daughter who is 7months her dad is 23yr. and he is an unbeliever and im always pressuring him about going to church with us and committing his life to the lord but all i can do i show him my faith and if he changes then that is wonderful but if not then there is nothing I can do about it...some people do not want to change...they enjoy the life they live but we must show that there is another way of life and that is the life in the spirit which is more joyable and full of God's Glory....

please pray for me to continue walking this path of righteousness and to raise my daughter in truth and in spirit...and also please pray for him his name is jesse.

God bless my brother and sisters and lets cntinue THIS AMAZING JOURNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
