When I was 17 years old, I received a prophesy from a highly respected and spiritually sound preacher. Every now and again I think about what was said and wonder if it will ever happen. Is there really a way to know though other than waiting?

Pray, and seek God on it. Any prophesy that comes from God WILL come to pass. But if it is not from God it will not. High respect and spiritually soundness, whatever that means is not what determines whether a prophesy is from God or not. Whatever God speaks will happen. Trust God, because anything God says MUST come to pass. Because when God sends his word out, it does not come back until it has accomplished everything he sent it to do. May Jesus bless you!

I was just trying to convey that the preacher wasn't questionable or shady if that makes any more sense. But yes you are correct, if it was indeed from God it will happen. I just worry if a lack of faith in it ever happening will hinder it in anyway.

God works in our lives despite what we do not because of what we do. As long as you are striving every day to work to a close and intimate relationship with God then He will provide anything you are lacking and help you gain faith by your daily walk with Him. Put your trust in God. read your Bible and practice what it says:

Love God with your whole heart, soul and mind and love your neighbor as yourself.
