hey

im new here, my names Ashleigh, i am 18 going on 19 later this year.
my story basically is been brought up in a christian family, i chose for myself when i was 14 to become a Jesus follower. ever since then its been a real rollarcoaster ride. i have a passion for helping people live healthy full lives. I am a fitness instructor as of 2 weeks and 2 days from now!! So I love fitness and helping others get fit and healthy.
But I struggle with (as diagnosed) extreme severe depression, anorexia (and other eating disorders), and I self harm.
So I AM going to be getting help. for any ladies out there who want real help... and its free of charge, www.mercyministries.com . Anyway, so I have a burning fire inside of me to change the world! woot woot! lol.
I just came here I suppose for Christian support while I wait to go into Mercy Ministries in july.

I have a question...
if anyones been there, when you are down... suicidal, and you dont have anyone to talk to.. how do you cope?

Hi Ashleigh,

Welcome to CC. I hope you find this to be a friendly place where you can receive love and encouragement from fellow Christians.

I am so glad to hear that you plan to go into Mercy Ministries. Everything I have heard about that organization has been excellent. I will pray for you on your quest for healing and deliverance from these difficult struggles you are facing.

A close relative of mine had been a cutter, so I am familiar with that aspect of self-harm. And I have suffered from depression, so I understand your plight there, too. How do we cope? If there is no one to talk to, we find someone or we talk to God. If you ever need someone to talk to or pray with, send me a message here at CC . . . I will receive a notification in my email and I'll check it as soon as I can. Or, if you see me in the Chat Room, feel free to PM me to talk or pray.

You are not alone, my dear.

Ps 18:6 - "In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears."
Ps. 68:19 - "Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens."
Ps. 120:1 - "I call on the LORD in my distress, and he answers me."
Gal. 6:2 - "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
Phil 4:6 - "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."
1 Thess. 5:11 - "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."
James 5:16 - "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."
3 John 1:2 - "Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well."

Father God,

Thank you that You are our healer and our deliverer. Thank you, Lord, that You are always watching over us and are never to busy to answer our call. You Word tells us to bear each other burdens, and I am helping Ashleigh bear hers. I lift up my sister to you and ask that you heal and deliver her from self-harm, depression, and anorexia. Please send other Christians to her as a support and encouragement for her, those people who will love her and speak godly truth into her life.

Thank you, Lord, that You hear and answer our prayers.

In Jesus' name,
amen.

Ashleigh,

I sometimes suffer from some of that stuff...but I really find consolation in following God, especially at those times in the matter of loving and listening...perhaps listening is the most important...I have soo many times just laid in GOd's presence, and let him do the work on me, as I don't know what I need or what will make me feel/be better, so I follow him to just listen to silence in a since...or to whatever happens after all the obnoxious flash thoughts reside...and you plunge ever deeper into the depth of God's presence undistracted...and there he has always taken the darkness and misery away...and the longer it is, usually the longer I don't want to leave where he has spiritually taken me.

God bless and may the Lord sure you very concretely his love
I hope this helps
