Default what if homosexuality was a genetic trait?

Ok lets say that one day on the news they came up after years of research that idk about 85% of homosexuals have a genetic imbalance/trait that makes them this way, how would you respond to this? and would they be judged differently by God than those who chose to be this way?

Keep in mind that there was a study done that showed that an orphaned child that never knew his alcoholic parents, after adopted and raised in a middle classed lifestyle, still went through the struggle of being an alcoholic.

Even if it were true that one such study showed that happened once (which I doubt) it would not prove that is the rule. It is entirely possible that the child could become an alcoholic regardless.

Your initial question should be answered: if homosexuality is genetic, it is god's responsibility. Therefore his "fault".

I don't really feel that you eased my curiosity.
There are other cases that you could probably look up. I'm just asking IF it were to be proven should this give those "born that way" an excuse or do you think God would pardon them of this sin? keep in mind the IF

I do not think God has given anyone a free pass, we all are held accountable for our own sins.

So, the answer is ...NO (they have no excuse), they must battle their temptation

and either win or sin.

people are born addicted to crack and alcohol because the mothers used both while pregnant, what is your point?

you think we should allow people to continue feeding babies crack or bottles of alcohol?

How is allowing them to be slaves to sin any different to being addicted to any other thing that is unhealthy for them either spiritually or carnally?

I'm not sure anyone deliberately chooses their sexual orientation. I don't know, maybe I could condition myself to become attracted to men, but I think my underlying heterosexual traits are too far ingrained for me to ever 'choose' to be homosexual.

But to the point; it matters not whence our sexual orientation comes, whether it's by nurture or by some genetic trait. What matters is what we choose to do with it. Just because we may feel an attraction toward someone we ought not to does not in itself compel us to act on said attraction.

homo or hetero, sexuality can become a problem when it causes people to lust, commit fornication, and engage in other activities that God forbids.

I did not feel that the comment I made was implying the comment you made. But I guess I'm sorry if it upset you :\
I hope no one thinks "we should allow people to continue feeding babies crack or bottles of alcohol" but I'm just trying to become " informed" I suppose

I don't see how the conclusion necesarily follows. It is possible that while in your mothers womb, God made you to have a propensity for sin X, Y, and or Z.

Does that take away from the Justice of God? No.

All people are born in sin. Period. Its our nature and we can't stop it. Does God excuse it? No, He worked out a plan of salvation from it, He gave us forgiveness from it, and He still expects that we do our best to fight our sinful desires. That's everyone. All people. Whatever your reason, whatever you sin, God expects you to resist.

I haven't read the other replies but the reason that happens in because sin can be inherited and it can become a generational curse if not stopped. But that does not mean God will pardon anyone for being part of a generational curse. Try reading any good article on generational curses for more information.

I know this will not answer your question, and I am certainly not the foremost person you should seek on something like this. I know many people who are homosexual, and have asked them about it. They were never confused and its just how they felt in their hearts. Most people who are homosexual don't just decide one day "I'm just going to be gay". Its a very serious struggle for them trying to fight something they've been told is wrong. But how they feel in their hearts they just cannot deny to themselves. So, the people I know did not decide, they just found it to be true of themselves. I don't know if their may be something wrong inside their heads. And if their is I do not know gods stance on it. In truth no one knows. Everyone can only make an opinion based on what they believe.

I've heard that adulterous and murderous tendencies are also inherited. One person may have a tendency to homicide while the other has a tendency to suicide, and genetics may be to blame for this. Of course such a decision also depends on the kind of life they've led, but I don't think you can rule out genes for behavioral issues.

Still, I don't think God looks favorably upon adultery or murder, and since he condemns homosexual acts I'd imagine he's sticking by his position. All of us have sinful natures we need to overcome. I don't see any difference with homosexuality. But I'm not going to force someone to live by my moral standards. It's enough that I can and try to, myself. What they do is between them and God.
