I saw another thread for confessing to other sins...so I thought all boys--as girls do not play video games--should bring out into the open any addictions or sinful games played in the past...that have had a bad spiritual influence on their lives...so taht if any others are struggling with violent or addictive games, they can gain courage and be set free...

[GENERALLY, ALL VIDEO GAMES ARE A WASTE OF TIME...]

I have several, but I will start simple...I used to be so addicted to Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers for the NES that I would reset the game if I lost a life before like the 8th stage...I normally liked to beat the whole first Act before dying once...I say this because, I think this quickness to reset the game developed into a spiritual force in my life for a long time where I was always seeking to undo things that I did...it made me fairly paranoid for a long time...

I am telling you I was insane about it...I would probably reset the game like 20 times in a row sometimes...probably more than this even...

Let me think of other games..."Dragon Warrior" for the NES was also a game that I got addicted to...that game was great...except for the fact that you had to go all the way back to the king to save your game...so if your mom told you to turn off the game, and she was mad, you lost all of the work you did...
I cannot tell you how furious I would get if anybody turned off my game...it was like that is all that mattered in my life as pathetic as that sounds...also, I would actually yank the NES controller back and forth when I attacked an enemy in the game...thinking it helped get an "exellent move"...Talk about addicted and superstituos

I remember playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 for NES like a maniac...I remember we went to a roller skating rink for an all night skate thing and instead of skating we played the arcade version for like hours upon hours...talk about an idol...

Then came Sega...as I was still very secular, I got into Mortal Kombat...One of the worst games ever...it was like you became a blood thirsty animal after playing it...you had to learn how to do all these grusome finishing moves...and you had to put in the blood code...it was like Augustine said about his pupil that went to the colliseum...you put a little blood into the water and the sharks will swarm...well he didn't say that...but what I am trying to say is in the beginning, I never wanted to do anything in that game...but the more grusome stuff I saw in the game...the more I wanted to do in the game (I did not become a psycho and want to do any of it in life but the game just warped you so the more you did, the more you wanted to do)...I mean I had to learn all the finishing moves...and later when we got Mortal Kombat 4, I had to do all the moves, including combos, finishing moves, friendship moves, babalities, basically everything...my mind just got more and more warped on this crap.

The only way I saw of ending the chaos was to throw the games away...which was done as I began to seek Christ.

So there is like four...

I see how Mortal Kombat type games led to even worse games (if that is possible...but seemingly it is)...

May the Lord free anyone who reads this from any addiction to video games they may have....and though it seems like your life may end if you do not continue on your quest, just pray about it and give it to God...and throw them away...

God bless
tony

I used to play hentai games that I downloaded of the internet. I don't think I need to explain why that was a bad influence in my life.
I never really got into mortal kombat, but then agian I'm more of a soul calibur fan...
Most of the time when I play an M rated game I try to turn off the blood, so I don't know if that still counts as a negative influence.
Recently I have begun to play Guitar Hero but that isn't exactly "Bad", except for the dancers maybe. But I really like playing it as I amlost constantly listen to music and game, so it's like my two favorite things all wrapped up into one game.

ha ha, I love how you put "No girls aloud". That just provokes us to look even more.

I'm a hardcore video game addict. I want to work in that industry as a storyboard artist. Nintendo all the way!!! ^_^

But yeah. I can understand the whole hentai CPU games thing. I got into that and then stopped coz I got confused. My dad is a porn addict, so I kind of got hooked on hentai games/hentai in general.... don't laugh at me. I stopped. Just coz I'm a girl doesn't mean.... gah.

but yeah. Games are awesome. Not hentai games. Just games. X.x

I like Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3 online. Its a war game and I don't consider myself addicted however I did start venturing into that territory. What I did was once I realized it was taking up too much time in my day (meaning Bible reading and thoughts about Christ didn't compare in numbers to the hours dedicated to the game), then I asked the Lord to give me strength to fast from the game.
At first I fasted for a whole day and then it got easier. Now its no big deal if i go 2 days or so without even playing for under an hour or so.
Be careful with the games we play because some are really dangerous. I do agree with the original poster about how ALL games are generally detrimental to Christians because even if it isn't "morally questionable" its still acting as a barrier between us and Christ. There aren't exactly any Christian video games out there >_>. I don't exactly know how that would work either haha.
God Bless
