i would like to know what my purpose is here on earth in my remaining years.
and i believe that when i know that, I will be satisfied.
If life is a game, i just don't want to play anymore.
And if it's more, then i'd like to taste what that 'more' is.

i don't believe that everything happens for a reason.
but i believe there must be reason in all that's happening.

Im satisfied to an extent. I know this is where I need to be at this point in my life for Gods point of view. Is there where I want to be? Yes and no!!! I do , because Im growing closer to God and learning so much about who I am and who I want to be. I dont, because I was married and wanted a family. I didnt think at 26, I would be here with no kids and a husband who wants a divorce and the possiblity of starting over.

I am now satisfied with my walk with God. I turned my back on God this past year after my husband left and lived in sin. He took me out of that lifestyle and now Im back on track, closer than ever!!!

Since my husband has left, I have been praying and asking God what my purpose is and I pray daily that he will show me and to use me to his benefit, to glorify Him. No matter what will happen with my husband and I, I trust and have faith in God! Dosent mean I dont doubt or get sad, but simply, lift all those worries to God!

God has blessed us ALL in some way and I think whether we or satisfied depends on how much we "accept" the current situation that we are in. God put us all here for a reason and I think one can derive satisfaction in our lives from realizing that God wanted our life to be this way....I'll admit though that when I think of satisfaction in this life, worldy possessions/accomplishments come to mind. I listed some of mine below....but I think it is possible to be satisfied with any situation as long as your mind is in the right place.

With possessions/accomplishments, yes. I would say that I am satisfied where I am with my life right now for several reasons. I am in my last semester of college, have two parents who love me, a job(although not related to my major), have friends and family in the faith(to provide and receive encouragement), and who can forget snowboarding. :)

No. I want to know God more closely than I currently do, and also bring everything to HIM in prayer. I just stared reading the Bible regularly and I feel like I know absolutely nothing about God. Every time I read the Bible, something new is always waiting for me....it's exiting to be learning to much about God, and growing closer. The same thing can be said for prayer in my life....just started regularly doing it, and I feel like such a little kid sometimes.

So to sum it up, I guess I am satisfied with my possessions in this life but not MY walk with God.

I don't think any Christian would be satisfied with this life. Are we satisfied with where we are spiritually would be a different question! :) I can't wait to leave this life.

Agreed. If we start measuring our life by earthly standards of comfort, we will not seek when we should do so most.

i agree with ritter. all caps is impossible to read.

i'm not ignoring your posts. i am reading them. i just mostly was curious as to how many believers can honestly (or even unbelievers) say they are satisfied in their lives. i can't truly remember too many seasons of my life where i was satisfied.

there were a few in there i'm sure...
i just want more.
and i'm not going to stop aching until i find it.

I am content, not satisfied because I have some things to finish and what not but I am content in the knowledge that my life is on track and that I continue to grow in my relationship with God, so yeh, I am content.

Random metaphor....If you look at it like a meal, I am only 22 so I am not (hopefully) far through my meal of life. Saying that I am happy with what I am eating but if I were satisfied that would mean it was time to stop eating. Does that make sense?

That is a contridiction. You don't believe things happen for a reason.
But you believe reason are for things that happen?

Do you know how much money it takes to satisfied a person? Answer: One dollar more.
If you are seeking to be satisfied, you might want to make friends with disappointment.

Ecc 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (14) For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

haha. hey thanks :) this post is old, but i am still interested in what people's opinions on the matter are. i like that meal analogy! :D i'n glad you are content/ happy :)

I have a lot to be thankful for and I've learned to find pleasure in a lot of things that make life worth living, but I still have a ways to go before I can truthfully say that I am happy with my life.

I find contentment in knowing that if I just keep following Him, He has promised to give me the desires of my heart, His peace, His presence and continue the process of making me more like Him until the day I see Him face to face.
