For years I'm having this feeling of not fitting in anywhere, like everyone around me is not of the same species. I feel the need to search something in life that mathers more then just the simple life us humans are leading. For most of my friends nothing mathers more then going to parties. For the older people nothing mathers but to work, pay their car, start a family, going occasionally on holiday and that's it.

I have the constant feeling that there is something more. Something out there. Something spiritual. Something that has the answers that I'm seeking. It leads me towards religion. Don't get me wrong I'm trying to be a good Christian and I do believe in God but going to church on sundays to listen to the priest don't seem to work for me.

This sort of obsession to seek the truth and spiritual wisdom seems to be wrong but at the same time I can't stop with these thoughts. It don't seem right especially since I started experimenting with different types of hallucinating substances to find what I want to find.

I'm sure many people, maybe even everyone don't know what I'm talking about.

Hi KevinV :)

I know exactly what you're talking about. But it's possible that you still feel that there is something more because you have never accepted Jesus into your heart.

If you have, that's great :D

But if you haven't... if you ask Him to come into your heart and be your Savior, I think you will find what you've been looking for.

And feel free to PM me if you have any questions or want to talk further.

my pastor, Kjell A Johannesen put this very nicely in one of his speeches I think:

Aquarium:

I want to finish off by telling you about my aquarium, not because the aquarium is so amazing, but because it can be used as a good illustration.
It is written that we are made in God's image. And in psalm 139 it says that God saw you when you were still in your mothers womb when you were fetus. And there are many things in the bible saying that God knows who you are. He knows your abilities.

For many years I have had an aquarim with Cichlids, this kind of fish come from Lake Malawi or Lake Tanganyika in Africa.

If I enter a shop and buy one of these fish, the fish isn't always particularly beautiful. I take it home to my aquarium, and put it in there. After a couple of hours , it has become very beautiful! Either radiant yellow, or maybe radiant red. Or a bit of both, it is almost like those salt water fish that you can see in the coral reefs.

It has become so beautiful. But why the change?

It is because I've found out that in the Malawi lake, there is a given kind of water, and then I make that kind of water using chalk and stuff to get the right ph value in the aquarium. And I also found out that this fish wants round rooms, small round stones and cavities to live in. I made that too in my aquarium.
So then I put the fish into the tank, it looks around, and then it "colors" 'Thank you God!' ... Well, I don't know if that is exactly what is says, but the point is: It is now in it's right environment.

But now comes the amazing part:
This fish, that I bought in Norway, has most likely never seen the Malawi lake...

Most likely it was bred in Norway. But still, it has the lake within. from many fish-- generations back in the Malawi, it just knows what it's environment should be like.

And when it then is put in this environment, in my aquarium, it shows it's bright colors.

Man is created in the image of God. And within all of us, something resides, I think:
From all the way back at creation, when all was good.

And there is something there that is latent to many, that has to do with the holy spirit, and God, and the fellowship with fellow believers, and the right environment. And this somehow affects the people.

By their talents, and living close to God, and to experience a joy in our lives as Christians, they show their vibrant colors.

----

The reason why we feel so misfit here, is that we do not belong here.... We belong with God

There is an entire spiritual realm out there with angels, spirits and demons, but drugs are definitely not the way to discover it. Jesus said not to seek out familiar spirits. He says the angels will watch out for you so that you don't "dash your foot against a stone". He tells us how demons can be released from a posessed person through prayer and fasting. The spriritual realm is real but it is not for us to meddle with. I beleive this is why God has made it so we can't see or hear the spirit realm. Hallucinatory drugs are dangerous because they can open you up to possession or to demonic influence. Getting drunk is also dangerous.

^This. I entered the spirit realm twice, once on purpose with a certain technique, once on accident cause I was using a drug. I now believe it is extremely wrong to enter unnaturally (You using your own efforts to enter the realm). Have you accepted Jesus? If so, have you considered something like YWAM? You seem to be where I was a couple of weeks ago in terms of that "not fitting in and wanting more" feeling

You are right. I have accepted Jesus and I thank God for all the things he does for us. God has helped me through very hard times in my life. But at some points I can't stop that feeling I explained earlier. Makes me think that there is more then just this crazy world we live in.

I would urge you to seek truth with all your heart and soul, stay out of the churches today as they preach the easy, 1,2,3, Billy Graham way to salvation, that will leave you still in your sins and disobedience, the only way to the cross is through repentance and faith proven by deeds, 2 Corinthians 7-10-11, I don't see this message being stressed in any of these threads, but Jesus said in Luke, 13,
Luk 13:23 And one said to Him, Lord, are the ones being saved few? And He said to them,
Luk 13:24 Strive to enter in at the narrow gate. For I say to you, many will seek to enter in and shall not be able.

The churches will tell you just believe and receive, and Jesus did it all for you, but this isn't the true gospel, I send this out of love, you cannot play around with sin, and expect to go to heaven!
Gal 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that he also will reap.
Gal 6:8 For he sowing to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh. But he sowing to the Spirit will reap life everlasting from the Spirit!

Will You Repent?

“God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John3:16

Does this Single Passage Capsulate the Gospel Message? Will you then merely ‘Believe’, and Trust that you have eternal life? Did you know that the Bible also says that the ‘Devils Believe’ and tremble? (James2:19) Are you then willing to stake your eternal destiny on the testimony of what men have said about John3:16? Is it Really ‘Faith Alone’ that Saves the Soul? Many think so, but the Real question is: ‘DID JESUS THINK SO?’

Jesus said that NOT Everyone who says to Me Lord, Lord will Enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who DOES the Will of My Father in heaven! Matt7:21. Is Doing the Will of God merely ‘Believing’ in Jesus? Again, many will tell you so. But yet Christ Himself answered the question of who would be Saved in Luke13:24, He said: “STRIVE to enter the Narrow Gate, for Many, I say to you, will Seek to Enter and NOT be Able!”

Your Churches tell you ‘Seek and you shall find’ but that’s only a PART of this Message. If you fail to STRIVE
(that is put forth a strenuous effort in the face of all adversity) you Will NOT Enter. WHY? Because not only is the Gate Narrow it is also DIFFICULT and only a FEW will be able to find it. Matt7:14. No wonder the Apostle Peter proclaimed to the Saints that the ‘Righteous’ are Scarcely Saved!’ 1Pet4:18, or More Clearly: ‘Saved with GREAT Difficulty.’ It certainly appears that he understood the Gospel Message of His Lord in plain language.

Further is the aspect of ‘Repentance’, Preached as the Basic fundamental Message from the Start. When Jesus described those coming to Him at the Judgment, claiming good works done in His Name, He called them ‘Workers’ of Iniquity! (Matt7:22-23) They were Not among the FEW who had ‘Departed from Iniquity’ (2Tim2:19)
Under the God so loved the World Gospel, NO ONE is Departing from their Iniquity. In fact they are being taught the Very Opposite! That you come to Christ ‘in your sins’ He Receives you and Cleans you up later.

Is this REALLY what the Bible teaches? Are you Certain it’s Correct? Your Soul is hanging in the balance.
EVERYWHERE the Message of Repentance includes a Clearing of Wrong Doing BEFORE Pardon can be granted. (2Cor7:10-11) Surly this is an extremely Difficult concept for you to accept, having sit under the ‘Love’ Gospel for so long. But it’s TRUE none the less. John the Baptist and Christ Himself followed the Prophets and called for this kind of Repentance as the Single Condition to be Reconciled to God and enter the Kingdom. (Matt3:-10, Lk3:8)

Isaiah said: “Let the Wicked forsake his ways and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him RETURN to the Lord and He will have Mercy on him. For He will abundantly pardon.” Isa55:7

Hundreds of Passages could be sited proclaiming the exact Same Message of Repentance. So when the Lord compared His Message to that of the Prophets, He used Jonah as His example. (Luke11:29-32, Mt12:38-42)
Upon hearing the Repentance message of Jonah the people Nineveh STOPPED sinning, shut down their city and Cried out to the Lord, assuming Nothing. Real Repentance includes a Season of godly sorrow in which the Pennant person STOPS or gets Clear of their Wrong Doings! (It Does Not happen after Salvation)

That’s why 2Cor7:11 Concludes by saying, “In ALL these things you PROVED yourselves to be CLEAR in this matter!” (Meaning PURE as in Acts15:9) THEREFORE a Genuine Repentance unto Saving Faith is PROVEN by DEEDS, Just as the Bible Says! Acts26:18. It’s NOT Repeating words, Receiving anything or Trusting in a concept.
You have been LIED to! Your Eyes are Closed to the Truth! OPEN them and TURN while Mercy is still available.

“To Open their Eyes and to TURN them from Darkness to Light and from the Power of Satan to God, that they May receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are Sanctified by Faith in Me!”

You MUST Break your Conditioning!!! Come Out from among them. Depart from Iniquity and Seek His Mercy.
The Path will be Difficult and Narrow, every diversion under the sun will try to hinder your progress, including your own passions and desires. The Old man has to Die in Repentance…..DEAD TO SIN….(Rom6:4-6) The Body of Sin Done away with so that you are NO LONGER a Slave to Sin! You Come out of Repentance a NEW Creation in Christ. (2Cor5:17) Not Still addicted to it in need of ‘Christian Counseling’. You were NOT Born a Sinner!
(You became addicted to sin by long practiced habit. Eph2:1-3)

The Love Gospel has the Process Backward. You supposedly get Saved in your sins and God cleans you up later.
But admit it. DOES ANYONE Ever get Cleaned up? Many get worse, but None are released from their bondage.
They fall under the Deception that sin humbles them and learn to Love the Message that they are poor sinners saved by Grace. Soon the Conscience is Seared and the heart waxed cold. The Light in them is Darkness and how Great is that Darkness! DON’T let it happen to you! Repent Now, like the People of Nineveh and find His Mercy.

This realm really is something special, to me it doesn't seem wrong if you enter it with your own efforts. Experiences like that are lifechanging and spiritual.

And yes I have accepted Jesus. What is this YWAM?

Surely not fitting in is not all that bad! I have never fitted in anywhere! it's good because it means that unlike others we meet in our day to day lives we are not wrapped up in the earthly things! Sure starting a family, getting a job all that stuff is important and it will all happen as long as you have your faith in God! Even when you think that you're the only one someone will come out of the blue and surprise you! being different is a wonderful way to be able to tell others about God and what he did for everyone! Just remember to pray and read your bible and you'll find your feet!!
