Vidya games. We like 'em. We play 'em. A lot. Do you do anything to display or share your faith in them?

I'll give you an example. I play Minecraft frequently. I've got a few YouTube video series of me playing it. The first episode has an introduction segment. In it, I mention that I'm a born-again Christian. Nothing wrong with saying it, that's part of what I am. I also tend to include references to my faith in things I build in the game. For example, in a house I'm making in-game (Minecraft is a game that focuses a lot on building stuff) there's a large cross that stands out in the main room. Oftentimes I'll have a Bible verse like John 3:16 on my forum profile or whatnot.

How do you show your faith? If you don't, what could you do? There's a gaming clan for Minecraft for people who are Christian. I didn't join them but they're there.

That's cool. And I didn't know there's a Christian Minecraft group.Very interesting.

In computer games that allow you to name your capital ships or fleets or planets, I usually name them after books of the Bible. Not sure how many people catch on, but it's convenient for me since I don't have to be creative making up name for everything.

I try to be in the way I speak to people, treat others (IC & OOC), and on occasion with things like you mentioned, but it's usually more subtle. Other times, it's sort of interesting to say, "oh, yeah, I'm a devout Christian" when you're reigning goary, frightening death and devastation over all who oppose you. I think it depends on the game, but I am certainly honored and focused (to varying levels) of my faith and life with Christ no matter who I'm around or what I'm doing.

This is especially cool because you mention it in your Youtube vids which is a very "dangerous" territory for Christians. I've seen people posting their testimonies or even briefly mentioning their faith and their comments are riddled with hurtful words against them and our God.

Very little respect for us considering they demand it for themselves so fiercely.

I answer questions put up to me and if I feel its relevant I'll mention my faith. I tend to help people who are having trouble with a faith they already have instead of people who have no faith.

Yea why not, if people are interested i would tell anybody about my faith, even while gaming. Most players aren't interesting in anything BUT the game though, so i wouldn't "throw my pearls before swine" that quickly, so to speak. Most people just don't care... sad but true...

Indeed. When it comes to showing my faith in video games, I do more of a passive sort of witnessing. A Facebook app I once played involved space and colonization of planets, so I used a username and planet names that expressed my faith, but I didn't outright preach or anything. It just wasn't the proper time and place for evangelization with words.

Here's that online group I mentioned: Soldiers of Christ. Apparently they are present in games like Minecraft, Halo, Runescape, Team Fortress, and others.

Video games for the most part are a total waste of time. What benefit comes from them (increased hand-eye coordination for example) can be gained elsewhere, in a more beneficial manner.

Most television, films, and books are a waste of time.

Nah, not too big of a fan of crusades...But I guess it could seem like that's what I'm doing, though it's not my intention. Do you see it like that?

Learn to read bro. I said "most".

I would think, you would also think me not to be that dimwitted to say that books are useless, knowing full well the bible is a book.

I said "most", not "all".

Don't read into the statement.
