WHILE I'M NOT A GAMER, I KNOW THAT D&D IS A POPULAR ROLE PLAYING GAME. I'VE HEARD ALL MY LIFE THAT D&D IS DANGEROUS AND EVIL. I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS WEATHER THAT'S TRUE.

You heard that all your life? Wow. From whom?
I've never played it, but I know some people who did. It's a game where you pretend to be a knight or an villain or whatever in a fantasyworld very likely to the one from "Lord of the Rings". You slay monsters and do all sorts of things. So basically, it's as dangerous as playing a round of chess. How can a game be evil? Stuff can't be evil, only persons can be. I don't know if evil people love t play D&D, but playing D&D certainly doesn't make you evil in any way =)

I don't see any reason why it's evil. I think D&D is silly, but not evil. I played it once and didn't like it.

As a funny sidenote, check out the movie "Mazes and Monsters" starring Tom Hanks. It's this early 1980s movie about a guy who loses his mind in the game world of a D&D type game.

Dungeons and Dragons is just a game, the people who have told you it's satanic are misinformed at best.

There has been a very unfortunate push from people calling themselves Christians to lie and distort the game into something it's not.

Fortunately most of that's over, and only a few fringe groups still think that way.

I was raised to believe that it was demonic( note my parents were misinformed, so it's not their fault), but as i got older, I realised it was just a role playing game like most, it just required more imagination and dice rolling.

Like most things, something can go awry and be bad, but really that depends on the people you are playing with. I would avoid people who try to play the game while invoking spirits cause that's just a gateway to a lot of crap you don't wanna be a part of.

HOWEVER, I decided to play it a couple of weeks ago with a friend of mine who assured me that we were playing with just Christians. It was a lot of fun! I can't wait to play again. It wasn't demonic or anything.

southgal, there's one thing more evil than dungeons and dragons, and that's bad spellin and gramma and puntuations. Use dungeons, with an e. Whether, not weather. Whilst, not while. Capitalise the first word of every sentance. hope that hulps.

As a teenager, I was pretty certain that D&D was an evil game. Because I had a boyfriend who played it every week, and he turned out to be a jerk.

Years later, I tried playing it a couple times, and it was amusing.

The game isn't evil. It's the importance and amount of time some people spend on it that's not good.

http://logosresourcepages.org/Occult/dnd-bv.htm Don't know if this helps or not, but its the best i could find.
''The Bible(the very word of God) is the final authority on right and wrong, and if God declares in the Bible that prostitution, rape, stealing, mutilation, murder, human sacrifice, worshiping other gods, casting spells, using magic, and practicing necromancy are wrong, then should one pretend those things or become involved in a fantasy game in which one participates by imaginative role playing? NO!''

Thats true, it just came to my mind that there was one christian developer... Besides, I think it is okay to play that game... But this seems to be like the Harry Potter discussion...

Yeah, glorifying the occult would suck.

What does that have to do with DnD?
