It's always been interesting to me to find out christmas traditions. One of my favorites is all my brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews gather at my parents house and we have Christmas dinner (lasagna!). What's your favorite tradition?

I would say when the whole family got together to sing Christmas songs at the church on Christmas Day. My Dad was a pastor. My sister and I are musicians and all are good singers. We were a grand choir with organ and piano accompanying. And all this after a big dinner. What fun! My parents had 7 children, 27 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and too many for my counting, great grand children and not a bad voice in the whole group. What a blessing when we started raising our voices in Christmas praise. It was beautiful. Mom and Dad passed recently and each family has their own gatherings now, but I'll never forget those sweet moments of majestic praise and worship to honor the birth of our Savior!

That sounds like a wonderful time!! Nothing like family together all at once!

The chaos and dysnfunction I come from always provided a Christmas spectacle (in the old Roman sense of the word). From watching the Uncles fist fight in the backyard after they got drunk over some petty nonsense to the entire Christmas table go up in flames because lighting the cognac on fire in the glass seemed like a good idea to someone to some relative mounting a life saving heimlich maneuver on a dachshund next to the ham but to the right of the turkey after a hot dog had caught in its throat: the Christmases of my childhood were never ever dull. After I ended up in an orphange (long story); however, they were dull... very dull and probably one of the reasons I dared to run away in the middle of Winter through the snow and make my way back to California at 16 years of age.

Celebrating Christmas has always been my favorite because we, Filipinos, prepare a lot of things for this joyous occasion. We start buying gifts for our loved ones around the first week of November and we decorate our house with so many Christmas lanterns (parol). When you go out, you will see and hear children go from house to house to sing some Christmas carols. J
One of the best parts is when people exchange gifts from one another. We also do Monito-Monita. On Christmas Eve, we have what we call “Noche Buena”. My family and I dine together and we eat a lot of delicious foods such as fried chicken, Christmas ham, fruit salad, edam cheese, spaghetti, lasagna and many many more!!!
Before the end of the year, we all look like Santa Claus..hahahaha! Christmas is also eating time! J
Oh! How I love Christmas! How I love Jesus Christ!

My favorite Christmas tradition is simple...

The only thing I want out of it is to go to Midnight Mass. There's just something special about seeing everyone up so late waiting to celebrate the birth of Christ.
