Every single part of this thread is grammatically incorrect, and the poll lacks any decent options.

I'd say the U.S. is declining, but not completely beyond redemption. Just like the educational fortitude of the creator of this thread! ;)

i think its fine. Im glad we are finally moving out of blind conservatism into a broader more open and accepting country for those who may not fit into one certain cookiecutter shape. Everyone in the country deserves equal rights and its past time they had them.

I think with the massive change that is happening to the country its becoming worst because the people who dont want to change are becoming more violent and annoying just because of the change. Also corporations seem to gain more power everyday seems like a few companies got bail outs, and one insurance company tried to sue the government for billings of dollars for being bailed out. Everyone is becoming more and more greedy.

It could be much worse... :) The mixed house senate and President, aka not being fully in either democratic or republican hands isn't really helping.

With the fall of the housing market in 2007 (and the subsequent failure of large banks and onset of the greatest recession this country's known since the Great Depression) the entire physical, financial and social landscape of this country changed drastically. Up until the economic boom of the early 2000's everyone wanted to live like kings and celebrities. People were buying houses just to resell them for a big profit a few months later. Banks were lending like there was no tomorrow and everyone was buying a new house or upgrading or taking out loans on their home's equity so they can buy new cars, big screen tvs, even other houses!

After the bottom fell out in 2007, the recession, record home foreclosures and double-digit unemployment has changed the thinking of many americans, especially the younger generation who are graduating college only to find that they can't land a job. Now people despise the rich and everything that they stand for. The big banks that were their best friends during the economic boom (because they loaned out money so freely) are now seen as the enemy (and with good reason!).

People are no longer wanting to live like kings and celebrities, now they just want HELP. Help to find work, help to get their credit back, help to simply make ends meet in this down economy. This is why so many americans are now favoring socialism over capitalism. They see capitalism as a corrupt and failed system because of the recession.

The truth is that it was the greed and carelessness of the banking industry that brought on the housing collapse and recession. Capitalism, when carried out with INTEGRITY does in fact create positive success stories and a stronger economy...but that's besides the point. The point is that the country is in a bad mood and they are looking for someone to blame and someone to take out their frustrations on.

If you are rich, its fantastic! If you're poor its horrorible. If you're anywhere in between, you're in trouble.

Today as we pulled up to a stop sign a funeral procession took the intersection on the cross street. The guy behind us started blowing his horn, and then went around us in the opposing lane and barreled thru the procession.

I don't know about the country, but it's people sure suck!

What I say is that God knows everything. I think it is all a part of the greater plan. End of times... perhaps?!?
