I feel like the lord is telling me to visit a catholic church. I haven't been to church in awhile and i haven't been to my mothers Catholic Church in years. I was baptized in a episcopal and i went to a Methodist church most of my life. My mother and her mother are Catholic. Being that i am not baptized catholic and i have never been confirmed, can i go to a catholic church?
I don't know what to do. ):

Yes, you can certainly attend catholic mass. All are welcome. If you decide you want to become catholic you can enroll in RCIA classes (Rite to Christian Initiation for Adults). I think all catholic churches offer them. That class will teach all you need to know about the faith and will get you started on becoming catholic, or you can just take it out of curiosity also. God bless and I hope you enjoy your experience. :)

I Firstly do not question the lord.
I Know it is. I feel in my heart it is.
I am yet again in a time of struggle and the lord is reaching out to me again.
I was thinking about the lord today at work and how i haven't reached to god in a long time. I work in fast food in a drive thru. At that very moment a young man in a hearse drove up. Needless to say i was startled but i am taking it as a sign from him that i need to go to church and start to repent again.

Well, although it's good not to question God, it is good to test the spirits to make sure they are of God.
1 John 4:1 (NIV) said:
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
So, before you go to that church, I would make sure to test the spirits, because your heart is the most vulnerable part of yourself, and is not smart to trust it.

I had an encounter with the Roman Catholic church last summer and since the memory of it is still fresh , I'd like to share it with you ..
All my family members ( as much as I know ) are Orthodox Christians and for a period of time I used to visit a local Orthodox church . To be honest though, I didn't hear enough preaching there (more songs and etc ) and I was looking for a new church . I visited the Roman Catholic church with a friend and I liked it a lot at first because there was a service everyday ! I was always concerned about one thing though .. The orthodox and the catholic believe about the Virgin Mary ..I know that this is a sensitive topic and I don't wish to offend anyone by stating anything , but I'm a strong believer in the Bible and I look with suspicion on anything that isn't mentioned in it . The first thing I asked the priest in the catholic church was weather they put a strong focus on The Virgin Mary , to which he answered with a no answer . About a month later I was invited to a youth catholic festival .. there I heard the message of the 2 sinless person( second being Mother Mary ) strongly proclaimed . Now , this isn't written in the Bible and I can't believe in it blindly. That same day I left the festival and short afterwards I decided to not be a member of the catholic , or the orthodox church any longer . I'm currently visiting a baptist church and I feel very happy there . I haven't heard anything that isn't written / or contradicts the Bible
My mom wasn't thrilled about it at first , but last week she came with me and she also enjoyed the time spent there .
I strongly advice you to go back to church. However, I also advice you to pray for a while before picking the church you would like to visit... I did the exact same thing when I decided to go to church .. orthodox seemed to be the right place for me
I hope that this will be helpful :) God Bless

I personally do not accept Catholics as Christians. They have too many beliefs that go against biblical and Christian teachings.
Also, be aware that the site owners official policy on Catholocism is he also does not accept it as a form of Christianity. So the site does not encourage Catholic teaching.

And before anyone tries to start a debate with me, don't bother. I will not respond as this is such an old topic i am done wasting my time with people on it. I gave my opinion, if you don't like it, put me on ignore so you don't have to see my opinions in the future.

The Roman Catholic church does not preach the Gospel of Christ, I advise you to look to God rather than the marriage of paganism with Christianity.

if you dont believe on what they have said up above, then you can take it to GOD, and ask Him to personally show you the way out.

the word of GOD says there is a way that seems fitting before man, but its end is?? death ...

so be careful sister, your soul is on the line here...

To belong to Christ is to proclaim your faith in Him. You are a Catholic and want to go back to God. The Holy Communion being offered every day throughout the world in all important cities is available to you. Take part in it and be filled with the precious body and blood of Jesus. You don't have to be physically present for mass every day. Though that way, you will very easily feel the presence of Jesus in your life every single day. I don't want to tell you to do anything except that I want to encourage you in your decision. Be strong and let God lead you in all your ways.

:) Every Sunday and often other times of the week I go, I feel so loved and welcomed. My favorite parts of the Mass are the Homily and the Eucharist. Whenever I feel like I have questions or I'm having a difficult time with something in my life, the Homily always gets me to focus on what is really important, has helped me to forgive and thank the Lord more for all the blessings of life. And then, to have Jesus there, right there with us and to have Him in our bodies at the Eucharist, this is the greatest miracle and I'm so blessed to partake in it every week! <3 It's such a beautiful thing! I hope you enjoy Mass as much as I do. God bless you and really, it's such a beautiful thing!
And happy Pentecost Sunday! ^_^

Hello,

you can go to any church you like, but it should preach repentance and a new life in Christ. Baptism does not safe, not at all. You have to be fulfilled in the Holy Spirit as a born again Christian. The Bible teaches:

You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.
It is like when people marry in the Western world. They marry as they love each other very much. The wedding is only valid after both partner have said "I do". In many countries parents arrange their weddings for their children. It is not necessary the partners love each other.

I hope you did not join a church where marriages are arranged. Keep away from such a church!

the bible says i will give you pastors according to my heart..... jeremiah paraphrased......
when u hear things from God saying go to this church or that church.the bible made us to know that christ is the head of the church.....this could imply
.that u move closer to him
.moreover test every spirit and discern which one is soulish(the desire from the soul..in form of emotions/feelings) and which one is truly from him(scriptural)
.At every church u attend make sure every dictates follow the scripture, be vigilante(the scripture says no foundation can any man lay apart that which is laid..jesus..)

While I feel similarly as jimmydiggs does, the Holy Spirit appears to direct us to each our own. Seek Christ above all else, and if you truly feel tugged in the direction of Catholicism, I pray you find Him and what He has for your life.

Well, I'll tell you, sis, you're going to see some stuff going on that seems strange to you because it's a whole different trip. My family is Catholic, but I'm not anymore. My mom was Methodist, but my dad talked her into changing to Catholic. I think they thought that might guarantee more prayer power to try to get me saved from my wild life. Mom's gone now, and dad is worried about how long she'll be in purgatory. I told him not to worry because she's not there. She's just reposing. I believe the word of God not church doctrine. I don't think you'll get struck by lightning just for visiting a Catholic church out of curiosity, but I wouldn't recommend their doctrine. I checked out some Protestant churches when I left the Catholic Church, but these days I just study scripture at home and fellowship with folks on this site. If you've been going to a Methodist church most of your life, you're probably familiar enough with scripture that you're going to question some things you see in a Catholic church. If you're curious, go to church with your mom to check it out. My dad goes to his Catholic church every Sunday, but on special occasions my brother tries to get me to go with him. I always tell my brother to go with him because I'm not into it and haven't been for a long time. All that is just my opinion. I've been accused of heresy by Catholics and Protestants, but I don't worry about that. I'm not a member of their fan clubs, but I still believe Jesus is Lord who died for our sins and was roused from the dead by the Father which I think is all that's required.

Re: What do you want to intend with your question

Well, we of The Eastern world still believe in arranged marriages. Though, global trending does take place and love marriages do happen. Arranged marriage is the tradition of some cultures in the world. Love happens even after marriage. However, the Catholic Church, gives arranged marriage as an option for those willing and seeking marriage that way. There's nothing wrong getting married that way. I know a good number of people who have married this way and they live good Christian lives. Even protestants in our country opt for arranged marriages. Of course, the couples are given time to know each other before the big decision to marry is made. To the Western world, such a thing could be strange. Just as many of the western ways are strange in the eyes of an Asian. End of the day we all live under the same Sun and breathe the same air.
