I am pretty certain there have been many many threads on this topic but here is my opinion...
1. Age and wisdom are not mutually exclusive
2. Wisdom and knowledge are also not mutually exclusive
3. I feel wisdom is about behaviour and courtesy not about trying to make others feel less.
4. Age does demand some respect but it can be earned and lost.
It has been a wee challenge for me, particularly in work where there are many older and more experienced staff but sometimes they look down on the newer staff and newer training methods (which are about knowledge I suppose) and in church I have noticed that some of the older member feel they are right simply because they have lived longer even though we have some very wise people (and pastors) who are significantly younger.
What do you think folks?
