Hello vicesvipers!

That is a very detailed question, and I am glad that you asked. So for starters, do you believe God exists? Or are you pretty skeptical of that subject?

Dear Vice .
You have asked a very good question . ' Why should I turn myself over to God ? ' . Maybe we should put aside all questions of Heaven and hell right now , and focus on something that seems more plausible , and personal . Where did the hurt occur in your life that drew you away from God in the first place ? Ive noticed something over the years that seems to be pretty prevalent in the lives of alot of people , when God seems a million miles away . When we face the ultimate question of , ' Where was God , when this happened in my life ? ' Why the divorce? Why did God see fit to pull this person out of my life , when they were the only thing I wanted to live for? Why did I lose my job ? Couldnt God have prevented all of those things from happening? Is it more reasonable for me to assume now that since God didn't intervene in this , can Iy simply assume that He doesnt exist? And even if He does exist , he must not be too much of a God or even a caring God , if He'll let these things happen . ' You know I don't know if any of this even relates to you . Maybe it doesn't . Maybe you never grew up in a christian home , under the influence of Godly parents . Maybe you were simply , never taught about Jesus and the way that He was born , the way that He lived , and the way that He died . I don't know . All that I can say in answer to your question is simply this . You have a Creator who loves you very much . That isn't something that faith or a lack of it can affect . He saw man , separated from Him with no hope , struggling under the condemnation and the weight of sin , and facing an eternity beyond natural death , without Him . God , in His infinite Mercy , sent His Son Jesus . He was born of a virgin . He lived upon this Earth as the Word of God , becoming flesh and blood and walking among us . He was despised and rejected of men . Betrayed by his friends . Nailed to a cross , taking upon Himself , the sins , of All mankind . That means My sins , and Your sins . He bled and died with the weight of hells degredation upon his own self . He cried out , ' Father , why have you forsaken me ? ' . He was buried in a borrowed tomb . He who knew No sin , became sin for us . He went to hell , and took back the keys of Death , Hell , and the Grave from Satan , and defeated the destroyer of mens souls . Then He rose again three days later , forever justifying whosoever would recieve Him , and called them , Children of the Most High God . Now , this is for you . It is yours to freely recieve . Oh what manner of Love the Father has bestowed on us , the we should be called , the Children of the most High God . This is for You . It is the Gospel . And it is so simple that even a child can understand it . It is a Loving Gods plan of reconciliation , that we , who were once dead in our trespasses and sins , could be brought near by the Blood of Jesus . God Loves you . You are special to Him beyond your wildest imaginations . He is a Big God . He is a Mighty God . And He wants more than anything , to come into your heart and have a relationship with you like you have never known . You asked the question , ' Why should I turn myself over to God ? ' . And the best answer that I can give you is simply this . Because He loved you so much , that He gave His most precious possession for you .

Because if God exists (and I believe he does), it is the wisest and most reasonable thing to do.

I've yet to see a single post like this where the person was sincere in the question. Its usually just an excuse to start and argument. Half the time they never even return to the site.

I was about to comment that the poster didn't really seem sincere and that he asked such a broad question in order to start an argument. if I am wrong however I would suggest you go to church. My church has alter calls but not all do, either wayuyou can feel Gods presence there and then you can't deny Him.

Why should I turn myself over to God?
That's for you to find out.

I think it's a little odd asking other people to convince you of something. Because anything other people say won't really make you believe there is a God for sure until you find out for yourself. And unless you fully come to the realization that there is a God for yourself, it won't mean as much.

I used to be agnostic (not by choice). But because of how I was raised (family is Christian), and how many people I had praying for me, a little candle of truth stayed ignited in my heart. It wouldn't go away. It urged me to learn more about God. Even when I was terrified to.
I am still cautious about reading the bible, because of how I am, I'm scared I'll misinterpret something out of it, and take it too literally, and drive myself near mentally ill with worry again.

I talk to my mom every day, she is a strong believer in Jesus Christ, and she translates the bible for me when I get confused about anything. If it weren't for her, I'd probably be strictly into new age stuff (because of the simplicity), not christianity.

Anyway sorry I rambled a bit there. My point is, talk to a person strong in faith about why they believe and how. If you are genuinely interested, stick with it and talk to them about God often. Not expecting to be converted, but to learn enough to DECIDE for yourself based on the new knowledge. And yes there is a lot. Christians love to talk about God, he is their passion. Maybe it will ignite a candle of truth in you too someday.

But only do it if you are interested though.

the basic answer is because GOD loves you and all of us and the fact that Jesus died on the cross at mt Calvary for us, he gave is life willingly for us. and anyone that turns their life to GOD and follows him fully will NOT regret it, I've been saved for many years, even though i have had to go through some hardships i know that GOD is always there for me.

following GOD is always worth it,even though hardships will be there through life GOD is the one factor in life that will not change. i hope and pray that you will decide to to follow GOD and make JESUS your personal savior you won't regret it
