I felt the Lord encouraging me to look in to the different aspects of praying for people to receive salvation. And also had this confirmed by Jilly81 suggesting the same a while ago :). So here's a list of some areas to pray in to for those that don't know Jesus as Saviour yet.

It's by no means everything, and if anyone can think of more to add then that's great :)

*. That God would shine His face upon them. Psalm 80:3.

*. Thank Jesus He has been sent to destroy the works of the devil, ask for those works to be detroyed in the persons life. 1 John 3:8.

*. Pray their heart would be good receptive ground for the gospel. Matthew 13.

*. Acknowledge God is greater than the devil, thank Him for that. 1 John 4:4.

*. Thank God He has good works prepared for them, if they come to Him. Ephesians 2:10.

*. Ask that they wouldn't be satisfied with anything less than eternal salvation in Jesus. Isaiah 51:6, Psalm 103:5

*. Thank God He is mighty to save them. Zephaniah 3:17.

*. Ask God to send His ministering angels to help them come in to salvation. Hebrews 1:14.

*. Proclaim that it's not God's will they should perish, so ask His will to be done in their life. 2 Peter 3:9

*. Ask God to enlighten their mind, which the god of this world has blinded. 2 Corinthians 4:4

*. Thank Jesus for His blood that will cover their sins, if they turn to Him. Colossians 1:20.

Thank you, likewise, your comment was encouraging!

another one. Ask God to show them His goodness that leads to repentance, Romans 2:4.

It has made such a difference to me finding out more about God's goodness, as a non believer I always used to know I was condemned, but never thought much about God being good. Just angry, and I thought I can never reach Him anyway, and sometimes why would I want to if I could

Great topic, Tim :) Thanks for posting/sharing.

Since people are born again through the power of the word of God (Romans 10:14-17 & 1 Peter 1:23), when I pray for someone unsaved I always bind the influence of satan who tries to blind them to spiritual truth, as you listed (2 Corinthians 4:4) and then as Jesus said in Matthew 9:38, pray that the Lord bring laborers across their paths. And of course, if I have the opportunity to share the good news to them myself, I do that =)
