Three people enter heaven but God only has room for one more. They are all really good people (by human standers) but you can only pick one. Out of the three, which would you chose and why?

  1. A devoted single mother who suffered a long and abusive relationship
  2. A rich man who gave all is fortunes to help the needy
  3. A pastor who led many souls to heaven.

Again, you can only choose ONE! *evil laugh*

Well this is how my mind works. I am thinking you are trying to trap someone on this forum into answering some awful way to further solidefy some negative belief about Christians in your mind.

But this is not something I'm sure of, as I don't even know you. I just wonder about peoples motives a lot...

The mother is partly responsible for her situation by staying in the abusive relationship; the Pastor is just doing his job; the rich man stepped up and did something he didn't have to do for the good of others. So I'd say the ex-rich man.

Intresting, when i asked this question on another site everyone said the rich man was the least deserving

Such a question is against the nature of heaven. Nothing can really be said about it.

Another pointless, unrealistic question that has no basis in any form of reality. I don't bother wasting time trying to find answers to questions that will never happen to begin with.

I'd pick the mother. She had a bad life on earth so let her enjoy heaven. But i would feel bad for the other two.

Yeah my first response was give me a situation that's at least plausible. But hey does everything have to be pointfull and real?

Don't answer that I don't want to know... :)

I like unrealistic hypotheticals if they are fun. But this is a mean one, and I'm not sure I like the kind of thinking it encourages.

First of all, I don't think that God (creator of everything) could run out of room. You only said these people are good by human standards, but not by salvation. So only the people who are saved can enter Heaven. Grace comes through faith, not by works. Each of these people may or may not be saved. And salvation is the only way into Heaven.

The rich man made a sacrifice. Most of us probably wouldn't have done what he did. But then the mother might have made a sacrifice too by staying in a situation that was bad for her but that allowed her kids to have a dad in their lives and not suffer broken home. The pastor brought people to Jesus so he should be saved too surely? Am going with the pastor

To create a scenerio where Heaven has a limited capacity and one would be sent to Hell because "there wasn't anymore room there" is highly unbiblical and would place a very unrighteousness judgement people that you described as righteous in your original post. No Christian should even attempt to answer such a question.

One more thing. Unless a persin been in a realationship that is abusive it's best not to place blame on a woman in this type of situation. It is not a good situation to be in and it isn't easy to just walk away.

The question is essentially, which person is the most deserving, regardless of the perverse context it has been placed in.
The point of a hypothetical is that it is a forced scenario, most of course would reject taking the responsibility or position where such decisions are made in real life.

Cop out answer: The person with most faith, grace, humility and benevolence.

Given extremely limited context to each persons life, no accurate judgement can be made, only a surface opinion. That being said, only the Pastor's description demonstrates faith. Good works and hardship are not sufficient.
