When we were called, we ourselves did not choose God - we were blind to this high calling (see II Cor. 4:3-4). God instead chose us. "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you ...," said Jesus to His disciples - His disciples then and now (John 15:16). Of course, the Father had originally given these men to Christ (see John 17:2-3, 6-7, 9, 11-12).

I would like to know from my Christian friend on CC:
Did you recieved your calling??
How would you like to serve in Kingdom of God? preaching, business, evangelism, helping etc whatever it be i would like to know how will you support the work of God.

Good question. I think we all have gifts to use for God's glory. Some have multiple gifts. And I believe it's our obligation to use those gifts to glorify God. It's also important for us to pray that God guides us in that use, lest we stumble and allow our selfish desires, pride, greed, etc. to corrupt our gifts, or our complacency to deprive us of the blessings we find in the use of our gifts in God's name.

I believe many are challenged by the jealousy others harbor because of our gifts. But if one's spirit is in line with the Word in the use of one's gift, one shouldn't allow others to be a hindrance. That's why it's important to fellowship with others who will encourage you in the use of your gifts to the glory of God.

I seem to be good at giving advice and counsel. I'm pretty direct and don't beat around the bush, i say what needs to be said, even if it's not what they want to hear, and is difficult for them to accept. People who are wiling to hear the truth seem to do well with what i have to say. I have a knack for psychology, and reading people and situations, so that helps. And i have learned about things i have never gone through and have a decent idea on how to help give advice on things i haven't even experienced.

thanks for replying Sir, i completely agree with what you said. Its necessary to recognize talents gifted by God and stay in fellowship with people who will encourage you to grow that talent inside us. In wrong environment, talent could be lost and God's purpose will not come to fulfillment which he planned to do through us. Its very important for a person to live a life for a purpose. A person without a purpose is dead.

That is a nice gift to counsel people. I needed counseling when i was saved. A sister told me and counsel me about Christ. The hardest part to counsel someone is that the person only want to hear what he or she want to hear. It take much effort for the counselor to stand by the word of God, after all we do not want to please any person by talking only what they want to hear. I have been in position of both as counseled and counselor so i know it need God given talent to counsel someone according to his word.

To be a good listener
To be a prayer warrior
To share my heart of worship with those who are slowly opening their own
To show Christ in every way as often as possible
To love those who feel they are unlovable
To share my past mistakes and victories with those who are younger in hopes they will experience more victory and fewer mistakes with the help of the Lord

I've been called to ministry, as a Bible teacher, apologist, and perhaps evangelist as well.

I am finding that God calls and prepares all the gifts in me.. Each season of my life brings me to operate in a different gift .. He doesn't leave me in a place of comfort for very long .. He has brought me to the place of mercy and forgiveness, administrative and counselor .. I believe every gift He has He has given us .. It's been a matter of allowing Him to work them into my life , trying and failing , refining and molding ..if I dont try in them and fail and allow Him to perfect them .. How am I to be transformed into His sons complete image? this is a question I ask myself .. I am not where I once was and now learning to operate in a different one all together , among His people.. Being sociable with sinners without judgement , comforting those who the world see not worthy of comfort .. I'm talking to people I normally wouldn't have given the time of day.. Unbelievers...it would seem to me that we should be able to minister in season and out of season for those who do not yet know Him.. no matter who we are with, no matter where we go..
I believe our calling is wherever we are , among whomever we are .. that's just my take on it

Based on all the events that lead me to where I am now, I think my calling is to be a wife and mother. Sometimes that feels less important than what others seem to be doing for God. Within my own role, I'm not always very sure what He wants from me.

While it is true that all Christians should have a 'burden' for the lost - I seem to have a special 'burden' for the saved -- and a special 'calling' to go with it --- to raise awareness and increase understanding about what the Bible says concerning the 'End Times Scenario', so that Christians may better prepare themselves for what is coming upon the earth.

Whether God wants me to "be a preacher" (in general, as an "occupation") or not has always been uncertain at best  ; however, I am "absolutely certain beyond a shadow of a doubt whatsoever in God's entire universe" about this particular 'calling'.

I have always had a unique interest in End Times prophesy.

I have always asked God for knowledge and understanding concerning the 'End Times Scenario'.

( "I very much believe that He has granted my request..." )

I have studied End Times prophesy quite extensively.

I do not claim to be any kind of 'prophet'.

I do not claim to "have it all figured out"...

I do not use the word 'gift' to describe the "special knowledge and understanding" that I believe God has enabled me to obtain with regard to the 'End Times Scenario'.

I do not boast myself as being anyone special who should be highly regarded -- certainly not placed on any pedestals.

( "I would much rather everyone have a high regard for what the Bible says - and study it accordingly..." )

The Holy Spirit is the true teacher in all things concerning Biblical Doctrine.

I am certainly capable of being in error; however, I endeavor diligently to avoid it. :D

I am a fairly common man who just happens to have a fairly uncommon "specialized focus" on [a certain "realm" of] Biblical Doctrine -- for the sake of other Christians in these end times...

This is my special area of concern.

This is my special area of study.

This is my special 'burden'.

This is my special 'calling'.

:)

Please do not ever underestimate just how vitally important "wife and mother" is in the big picture - especially where Christianity is concerned.

It may not seem like "an important job" -- but, it has an enormous impact on everything in any society.

To be "a godly woman" -- to honor God - to honor your husband (for God's sake, and for the sake of society-at-large) - to raise your children as you ought -- these things help to "set the course of things straight" in a society.

And there be [relatively] few left... :(

This is a big part of what is wrong with the world today. Satan has managed to undermine the confidence of women everywhere regarding the importance of following the "built-in" 'wife and mother' "proclivity" that God put in them for His purpose. Satan has managed to convince [way too] many women to forsake the woman's role and try to put themselves into the man's role...

There is a lot of truth in the old well-known statement:

"The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world..."

The success of what many others are doing for God depends on the successful accomplishment of the "wife and mother" role of women.

:)

Praise Lord!!
I agree with bro GRA what he said about women's power. I heard a testimony from none other then my own pastor that how his grandmother accepted Christ and how she use to pray for her family's salvation. My pastor's family was against her decision of accepting Christ. She was tortured, she was tied down to tree and physically assaulted with iron rod by her husband but she never departed from Christ. She prayed for her family, her children and her grand children. And because of her prayer, her grand child is a pastor today and he preaches to more than 500 people in his church. He saved many souls including me and all this is happening because of a woman's prayer for her children.
