Hi,

An interesting thought that came to me. I know i have my weaknesses, but the word of God says clearly we can win over our weaknesses, still we choose to say, I know I am weak and can do nothing about it. Shows lack of faith in God and His word. Eg. I could be a very high tempered individual, loosing temper in the very moment its sparked and do nothing about it. Or be addicted to porn or immoral stuffs and continuously accept am not able to win this. Why?? Why not?? Christ did not give us a spirit of coward? I have to admit, I fail in aspects of life, but I will rather work on it in Spirit, than say I am not capable of winning it. Not for me, but shows the Spirit in me is weak.

Thought I will initiate a discussion on this topic to develop myself and encourage others too.

Thanks,
Ravi

It's always possible to grow and improve ourselves, especially if we have the Holy Spirit. Although it is objectively true that we are not perfect, I think we do hide behind that statement out of weakness. Perfection is not a realistic goal for any human being, but we can always become "less imperfect" than we currently are. That's how we grow in Christ.

This is a very important point. Though we are not perfect, we should be seeking God's perfect power, His Love and Spirit, to guide us.
We are all inclined to feel sorry for ourselves from time to time. But some people go too far with it, using their weakness as an excuse for pity and failure. We can't be perfect and we may fall, again and again. But we should focus on the solution, God, and not the problems, our weaknesses. If we do that, God will lift us up.
God Bless!

I found this very interesting subject.
I believe that sometimes it isn’t only cowardice, but because there is too much selfishness and evil within ourselves to put aside sin. Sin us attract, otherwise wouldn’t exist tempted.
But when we receive Christ into our lives, he cleanses us from day by day. But for that to happen we need a real purification. Kill our desires, our selfishness, and all we think we need.
We were created by God. In our lives He should be enough to us, we should only desire him, but with fall, we have inherited selfishness and desires own self-realization. We we’re leaving aside the main source of life (God). We should be aware, if we want to serve Jesus, we have to battle our minds and against our own flesh.
Paul says to resist the devil he will flee from us (James 4.7). But about our flesh he advised us to get away (II Timothy 2. 15 and II Timothy 3.1-17) ... interesting huh?
The flesh is stronger than we think,
Flesh is stronger than Satan.
Our flesh is weak and we’re imperfect because of that? yes, we are!
But in Jesus we can be perfect! (Timothy 16-17)

God Bless Us!

Completely agree with you. To be honest, I feel that Romans 3:23 in addition to the phrase "I am not perfect" has been overuse as a cope out by many Christians. It's quite disheartening to see God's grace being made very cheap by many professing Christians today :(

You asked why? Why?? Why not??

Romans 8:7The mind that thinks only of ways to please the sinful old self is fighting against God. It is not able to obey God’s Laws. It never can.

Just have the thought about sin whether you want to do it or not and you willend up doing it, I know this was true with me fro years and just could not grasp this truth. Just have sinful thoughts that you do not want and it takes further control
James 1:14But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

So what are we to do?
Galatians 6:8For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

learn to renew our minds to what the Spirit says and be free of sinful flesh here and now
Galatians 5:22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Galatians 5:23gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:24And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Seek by the amazing mercy of God to see the above and believe this written below
Galatians 2:20I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Here and now this is what he came to do for you and all that believe.
We are saved by the life and not the death nor are we saved by trying to do good
Romans 5:10For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life
reconciled is 100% forgiven before any of us here were ever born

I'll agree that there are those people out there who act like victims of sin, saying that we all sin and stumble and that they can't stop because nobody can be perfect.

Those are the people who don't even want to try.

But, if we demand perfection of ourselves, we are going to be continually disappointed. Because we CAN'T be perfect. We ARE going to stumble. It happens!

The difference is how we react to our failures; do we repent, take God's hand and get back up and try again, or do we say "I'm never going to be able to do any better, so why try" and wallow in self-pity?

Absolutely, He is the one who tests us and gives us the strength to win it.
A reference from Bible which inspires on this :- 2 Corinthians 12:9 :-
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
God bless u too..:)

"We are not perfect" is one of the oldest excuses for why people continue to sin. It's almost as if we use it as a crutch. I'm guilty of this too...but I'm trying to do better. But we must also realize that perfection is NEVER accomplished until CHRIST comes back to fully REDEEM and RESTORE creation back to what it once was.

Amen. In Jesus indeed we can be perfect. So if thats in the word, our Lord is there to bring us to perfecting. Defeating not only devil but also ourselves in us. Always believed we get week because we prioritize ourselves over God. If we can control that, there is nothing that will stop God's spirit to work completely.

God Bless u too ...:)

I share your concern. One thing Our Lord Jesus has wanted us to keep is a Spirit which yearns for God's will and be pure. By finding an excuse we are secretly implying, I am sinner and not willing to improve. While Jesus has done everything for us to win any form of sin.

Yeah!! That's correct. Our full redemption is only when Jesus is back. However, to avoid being 5 unprepared bridesmaid out of 10, we must bear the fruits of spirit and let go the wild fruits.

Why do we stumble? Is it not because we leave God's hands and walk by ourselves.

In Christ weare perfect because Father views us through Christ as this, he took all sinaway at the cross to present us perfect before God the Father and how we stopsin is by not thinking about it, our consciences purged from it by theresurrection which was after all our sins were taken away at the death ofChrist
This is anamazing salvation you all
Hebrews 9:14
How muchmore shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himselfwithout spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the livingGod?
Ephesians1:7
In whom wehave redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to theriches of his grace;
Colossians1:14
In whom wehave redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

This wouldbe taking advantage of grace
Galatians5:13
For,brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for anoccasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
And for me ichoose not to take advantage :
Hebrews 2:3
How shall weescape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spokenby the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Fatherthroug his Son Christ completely redeemed you, reconciled you forgave you 100%
Romans 3:24
Beingjustified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Ephesians1:7
In whom wehave redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to theriches of his grace;
Colossians1:14
In whom wehave redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
You see weare forgiven 100% for all time and all we need next is the resurrection by theSpirit of God and we have this in him if only we will beleive this read Romans6:1-11 this we are since we beleive from God's perspective through his Son toyou and you and you

He wants usto recieve new life by the resurrecttion after the death that took away the sinof the world in Father's sight not ours or this worlds
theresurrection the life is what we are saved by here and now
Romans 5:10
For if, whenwe were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

And thistakes whether we beleive God or we do not too much world hypocrisy has gottenin the way and is subverting the power in and of the cross

I never said I'm not trying. All I am saying is that we must realize full perfection is never reached until Christ comes back and restores us to our sinless state. I am indeed trying..

Thank you JesusChica, I was not saying you were not but glad you are working hard to enter into his rest. I wa just pointing out that in belief of Christ one gets to search and find out that Christ completed 100% everything you need for life and Godliness.
It is all in one package the cross that each of us unwraps, while we get caught up in works, until we come to the full knowledge and then rest from our works as he did from his
Hebrews 4:10for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.
Just work hard to enter his rest, you are well on your way
