What if your eyes were taken and you lost your hearing ability,
will you still search for God and respond to His call?

What if your legs were taken and your arms clipped off your shoulders,
will you still take the gospel to the lost and give to those in need?

What if your voice is taken and you lost the function of your tongue,
will you still praise God and song to Him from within your heart?

Wait a minute, before you start deciphering the possibility of these events and making up your mind on what you would do out of religious service and what not, at this moment that you're totally complete and capable, what have you done or are you doing? Consider these second batch of questions first.

Are you seeking God, beyond mere sight and are you heading His calls?
What about the gospel, how are you representing God to others?
Are you willing to give to those in desperate need?
Your voice, your tongue, what do you use it for: curse, abuse, lie, gossip, sing to the devil or kill?

You cannot make claim to doing great services to God when something unfortunate happens to you, if you are not doing Him service now that you are whole, complete and capable. So what's your lifestyle (service to God) now like?

In all honesty if I went both blind and deaf I would kill myself.

This is a timeless truth and I will refer to your post for many years to come, should i live to remember.
Thank you. Thank God.

Pray for me to be better with what I lack-- and have. All glory to God.

Thank you for the food for thought, kip-s. :)
False I cant imagine how terrible life could possibly be not ever being able to see or hear again, and honestly I dont think it would be a life worth living for me. He ased what we would do...well I would see no reason to continue living especially at that point basically trapped inside my own head.

But there are Christians who are blind and deaf and they have not killed themselves. If you did that, you would have to answer to God why you did that.

Why? I see no point in continuing to live a life that I could no longer enjoy. Never seeing the beauty of a sunrise or sunset, the majesty of nature, beauty, never hearing the voice of a loved, or laughter, or music, as someone who has experienced those things my whole life, having them suddenly taken from me? Nope, far too much.

To say you "could no longer enjoy" life is an assumption my friend. I know this is all hypothetical anyway, but when people lose one or more of their senses, their other senses are typically dramatically enhanced. You could learn to appreciate life in a new way. You could touch and be touched, smell, taste..... Ice cream?? c'mon... Ice cream dude. Stay for the ice cream.

yes but not seeing or hearing...being unable to enjoy the things i like most...like literally everything in my life i like ding requires one or both of those senses. Hypothetically yes my taste, touch, or smell could get stronger...still not an equal trade in my eyes.

Perhaps you're already trapped in it. :p

I don't need my hearing and sight taken away. I'm already trapped inside my own head. Most people with my mind would have already experimented with illegal drugs by now to deal with it all. but I haven't.

Erm... back on topic. I don't know how I'd seek God without external stimuli. Some people on this very forum have quoted to me a part of the bible that they interpreted in a context that suggests that our hearts are corrupted and no part of it is clean. Therefore when left on our own, we become evil? I hope that's not true. Because if it were, that would mean the only way to become clean is to ignore our hearts. Something about that seems wrong and confusing in a thousand different ways. Seeing as my heart feels less cluttered and distorted than my mind.

I am not asking if all those senses were taken at once. I'm only suggesting if one of them were taking, would we still serve God with every other things we have? I believe most of you know about Nick Vujicic, he didn't allow his maimed limbs disturb him. He inspired people and change the lives of many. In fact is married to a very beautiful girl now.

My ultimate question is this: While we struggle to serve God to out fullest capacity at a time when we are 100% able, it will be hypocritical to claim we'd serve Him wholly if we're disable. Therefore, what are you doing in service to God now that you are 100% capable?

This is a charge to everyone, me included, that we have to serve God wholeheartedly.
