People's purpose for being here varies.

In my case, I've made a note in my pm chat window that a person should read my profile details before deciding to private message with me.

I get five types of PM's:

1.) From foreignors trying to ask me for money, and/or a visa. Or to propose marriage. LOL.

2.) From people who genuinely need spiritual guidance, and/or someone to just talk to about stuff.

3.) Occasionally, from some fool who wants to flirt and be inappropriate. Enter the ignore button!! :)

4.) From my friends on here. :)

5.) Last, but not least, and I get at least one PM every day asking me this question: "are blue ladybugs actually real?."
:pMy usual answer to this silly question is, yes they are, so do some research on them and you will indeed see that blue ladybugs do exist in Australia, parts of the USA, and the Caribbean. :)

I have visited some profiles here and, each time I went to chat room, I noticed many women have several types of "warnings" saying things to discourage men or women to not send PMs.

I´ve got some ideas and I don´t invade private privacy: I respect that! But I wondered if men also had the same "warnings" (I will not check) but I guess there are some "female" creepers or wirdoes. So I would like to know what´s going on there.

I have years knowing latinamerican culture (I was born here) and I know how latin american women like "to befriend" or "to take money" or ease an adventure...

I wish any person, no matter his/her genger, tell me what is going on in that culture. I know some people from many places tried to get info as scammers, but I don´t believe real or commited christians use the privacy of these PMs to hurt and, of course, CC has plenty access to what we are doing here, so my concern is not "privacy" but what is deeply discouraging friends or christians to interact, outside the chatting line (from which I lack experience, because that is not my culture).

If any leave but one simple line, I´d apreciate (I will know it, anyhow).

Thanks in advance!

P.S. PMs are REFUSED, by the way. He! He! :)
No warnings at all but then, I really do not chat much. All PM accepted but rarely get any except for a close dear friend.

I had one creeper. Unless it's someone I know pretty well I decline, plus I'm married so I think it might be a bit inappropriate for me to pc with a man.

jajajaja

Wow!

May I ask a visa, too? jajajaja

I wish you had a ride on the subway system here: Beggars, proposers, and everything you misssed. :

The ignore buttom is an amazing tool for that, even blocking those you knew but MY...

No doubt there were several you wanted to woo you. I would, if I had that visa. ja! ja! :)

Recently my sister went to Peru and Ecuador. The things she told me (Uffff) This is a quite place, at least, ladybug.

Not all PM are for luring people away and, the advantage I saw is when those days i came here I saw their legal status and, sometime ago, someone asked -in a thead- to add an status like "engaged" or something to easy the picking of those he thought as dataable (or preyed).

Time gave me enough experience while hanging around.

I chose not to use PMs, except when it seemed necessary and temporarily.

Hi secular :D

A lot of people have those warnings to avoid harassment, or they prefer to talk to people in the public areas of the website.

I understand what you mean with Latin American culture (my parents aren't from the u.s.), it tends to be a lot more open, connected, and social, but don't let the warning messages discourage you from continuing to share.

God bless brother!
Thanks again!

The more I used PMs the best I said what I thought (directly and in public eyes).

I´m thankful to GOD that those who were molesting this site have gone away (Yes! Those cheeky ones saying things like: "If you are not alone... leave me alone...") have gone elsewhere too.

:p
