Hey guys,

Just heard from a friend who I haven't seen at Church for a few weeks and decided to start harassing him more consistently. He has told me that he has been struggling but getting through it now, he has asked me to pray for full join and desire for Christ again, he said that he has been trying to make God a pinyatta (all his words heh) to try and get things that he wants.

He knows all of this is wrong, and he is a strong christian, and I know when he says he is getting through it now, that he means it.

But, I was wondering if I could direct him to any Bible Passages or Literature to help him out more.

Thanks for the help guys, just want some extra knowledge to go to him with.

How exactly has he been using God as a pinata? Can you give more info?

I think you try to bash it (God) with a club and get some goodies out of it lol Or maybe he meant something else? o_O

No one said it's an easy life after you are reborn. Sometimes, it actually gets harder but think of the eternal treasures that are available in Heaven. Who knows, if he sticks to it and does his best, he might get a "Job well done!" when he meets Jesus (see eternal crowns and the parable about the three servants and the master who gave them money to take care of while he went on a trip). Let's see, for encouragement... mmm... I don't have any off the top of my head but I would be interested too if anyone else has some.

You can pray for him & ask people at church to pray for him,
Tell him that bashing God is NOT going to help him in ANY way but instead worsern his problems.
If God punishes you so you can repent but instead get mad at him...well the outcome wont be good.
Speak to him about what is going on & ask him what did he first do before he started feeling sad , angry or depressed.
Maybe you can try & help him fix that problem with God help.

How is bashing God going to make anyone receive any good from that?
In my opinion, he doesn't sound like a strong Christian from what I see and if he knows it's wrong then why does he do it?
What he needs to do is repent for thinking in such a way.
During troubled times, know that God has something good in store afterward.
Obey. Walk in the path of righteousness.
