Pedophilia and bestiality (as it's often brought up too) are both non-consensual and/or takes advantage or those who do not possess the intelligence to make informed decisions. This is the main reason why homosexuality between two consenting adults is a personal issue rather than a public one - even if it is considered a sin.

Movements are about people's rights (referring to what they are allowed to do), not necessarily what is right (referring to right as opposed to wrong). Rights are supposed to protect innocent people who do not consent to certain acts or are too young to make informed decisions (as I mentioned above). Just because a movement deems homosexuality as legal doesn't necessarily mean it's right or wrong, that's up to you. But, at the same time, just because you deem something as right or wrong doesn't mean you should prevent two consenting adults to act a certain way.

Hi there!
I always tell my kids In youth group "you hate the sin but love the sinner". My belief is that homosexuality is wrong but that doesn't mean that I have shun them or anything, that would be completely unbiblical. God does love all of us no matter out sins but he gives us rules too by which to abide. Some people may feel a sinful pull to overindulgence with alcohol while others it is lust. We each have our own battles to face because we are sinners but God has promised us that he will never give us more then we can handle, when we are in trouble he will provide us with an escape route!
I believe your friend was wrong to challenge your new beliefs (that is not fair to you) but I'm sure she is confused too. People don't like change and it is sometimes hard for them to accept their friends and family when they do change. But that is part of life! We live, we love, we grow and change and your friend needs to learn to accept the new you.
As for the bible being outdated? I won't lie that statement upset me just a bit but think of it this way. We are talking about God! The Great I Am, The Creator of ALL THINGS!! He knows all before it happened he spun the world into motion without effort. If he can do all that then tell me what makes you think he would allow his word to be written for only one period of time when he made it to be a tool for Christians to use until the end of time? :)
don't let your friend get to you, persevere and learn the truth for yourself!

i can do all things through Christ who gives me strength- Phil 4:13
