From time to time I would hear someone say that, when it the KJV Verson it says " If a man would not work then he should not eat". There is a clear difference between the two which is whether or not a man is willing to work, the Bible clearly says that we are forbidden to add or take away words from it, so why is that people won't quote this verse correctly? It drives me nuts when people twist and deform verses.

welcome to the real world. People has been twisting and deforming the true word for years and years, and still today they are doing it. Sad but true. you got to understand tho. that when 'SOME' people read a passage from the bible, there immediate reaction, is to think and try to understand it there own way, instead of calling upon the lord for understanding, and what they try to understand, there own way, they think they are right, and little do they realize, they not only misleading themselves, they are misleading and giving wrong understanding to others too, hence why so many religions and faiths and other beliefs are trying to do. to confuse and blind the truth from the world.

Since you seem to be pointing specifically at the KJV i'm guessing you're a KJV onlyist? Perhaps there is other wording in other versions? But if you only accept one version, this could be the issue as well.

Another one is how some folks say that money is the root of all evil. The scripture actually says its the love of money that's the root.

Another still is when people say if your're not for me, you're against me. This is the worst, because the scripture actually says something entirely different. It says those who are not against us are for us. (In other words, if someone is not specifically against us, they are for us).

Matthew 12:30?

All the Matthew 12:30 verses I could pull up imply that anyone not specifically for Christ is against Christ.

That's a bit of a bold claim isn't it?

In the verses I just pointed out the KJV says the same thing as both the NASB and the NIV.

All but the most anti-KJV bible proponents claim that it's doctrinally correct. I know the KJVO people can be grating and obnoxious, but it's a sad day when their antics cause people to start slamming the translation. It's still the number 2 favorite behind the NIV.
