Hey guys I'm sick of all these debates around the site so I'm posting something positive. I would like to know what everyone favourite thing about Jesus is. Perhaps you can't decide? In our world with all it's changes, Christ always was, and always will be, the one that we can always depend on. J

oh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 He was with God in the beginning.
Joh 1:3 All things were created through Him, and apart from Him not one thing was created that has been created.
Joh 1:4 Life was in Him, and that life was the light of men.

For me it is the character of Jesus and how he embodies what a real man should be like, in the sense of how we as men should conduct ourselves.

I remember when I was younger me and one of my good friends got in a huge fight and were quite angry with eachother for a while and had a very open feud in our community that involved both of our friends. I was a very staunch Atheist at that time, and afterwards, but I remember reading through the Gospels just for fun and coming across the part where Jesus says to forgive your enemies and turn the other cheek. Now I wasn't so much trying to turn into a Christian at that time, but I decided to try that advice because even after having a physical fight the situation just kept getting worse and I really had nothing more to lose. I forgave my friend and it was almost funny because he became actually fearful of me thinking that I was plotting a trick against him. It opened the door for us to talk and I explained I really was sorry and really did forgive him and he also said he was sorry and we were able to reconcile.

Like I said I was still an atheist afterwards for years, but after that moment instead of being militantly against Christianity it really made me respect the religion a lot more and sparked my interest in studying religion and the Bible more in depth. It really made me realize there might be more to this Jesus guy than I originally thought.

So to sum it up I guess one of my favorite things about Jesus is just how practical and trully wise His teachings, especially in regards to forgiveness, are nearly 2000 years after the events of the Gospels.

My favorite thing today is...yeah I was feeling good and suddenly as i looked in the mirror I saw a plank of wood shooting out of my eye socket. And I was like, "Man...didn't I just pull that thing out of there." Sometime during the day I must have sneakily wedged it back in. I guess I like how it feels, I still haven't worked out why I do that. Jesus of course wouldn't stand for it because He is purposing me for something higher.

I love that His pursuit is relentless, that He yearns for our total surrender and submission.. He has a name that He wants to give us!

From the day one I met this awesome, wonderful compassionate person whom people called as Jesus I was repeatedly amazed and surprised because no one matched Him and since that day He kept on amazing me with new surprises about His nature , it was quite like an adventure, the more I know Him I just discover there is always something new about Him.

He is like the wine , just gets better and better with time.

I totally agree with you! I have had MAJOR struggles with hypocrisy as well.

What I will say is that I don't think that "Jesus wouldn't stand for it," like a Lord who stands over His creation shaking a finger, so much as I think that Jesus would patiently give you a chance to see the error for yourself. And then if you don't see the error, He will "nudge" you somehow (with the Spirit). If nudging you for a while doesn't work, THEN He might pull out the gloves, so to speak. ^_^

Paul talks about in Romans doing what he wishes not to do, not doing what he wishes to do. That's the boat you're in. Then he answers his own question as to Who will deliver him from himself: "Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!" I think that's important, because what it means is that Jesus is the answer to the hypocrisy you're struggling with - His teachings, life, death, and resurrection - in that He will HELP you, not criticize you.

Blessings brother. :)

yayy good answers so far everyone :). One of the things i love about God and have discovered as I get to know him is the fact that he always leaves things better off than they started. That and his love, patience, kindness...I like that he truly understands everyone even if they don't necessarily understand themselves or what is going on in their lives.
