Dear asamanthinketh, I understand they way you may feel. If inside you feel much pain you are so loved by God anyway. When people tells you to not dwell on the past is because sometimes the past can stick us, give us much pain and it doesn't allow us to enjoy the future in God's freedom. I know that it may be hard to forget and to forgive, but think of what God did to all of us.. He decided to forgive also those who put Him on the cross.. Isn't His love amazing? In the same way God want us to forgive who did something to us. And trust me it will be helpfull for you! I don't think you want to suffer anymore. Please consider what i'm telling you. A hug from italy

Yes, i woud agree that forgiveness is what we are asked to do. But forgiveness doesn't change the other person. It doesn't stop them from continuing to harm me. There comes times in life when you have to leave the person or the place because there is no love left. They have to move forward to, or it is time to leave.

You know Jesus also talks about loving our enemies. And the bible does say that the Lord will repay those who do harm.

I am by no means pefect, but it gets old changing purpose in life.

whoever of you would love life and desire to see many good days keep you lips from deceiful and harmful speech, seek peace and pursue it for the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer
