If God gave us free will, then how come sometimes we ended up falling for a person that we could never be with?
ITS FREE WILL...WE MAKE OUR OWN CHOICES AND SOMTIMES THINGS ARE A TEACHING LESSON.....I AM 47 WITH 2 Adult children and a 8 yr old whos father went to be with Jesus in 2007.. I have been in abusive relationships and ones who gamble and 17 months ago I met a man who is exactly what I prayed for.. he was in a 22yr unfaithful relationship and has no children...my 8 yr old has no father and the two are my world and they get along so well, they even look like father and son. Now explain that. I am happier than I have ever been

I guess I am just one of these weird Christians, but I do beleive God has a favourite woman/man out there especially made for us. Sure, there might be many we can fit well with, and we can choose someone else than whoever God had in mind for us, and still be in a good relationship. But I truly beleive that God has one special for us.

When I met my husband I could sure think him sweet, yet, when I fell in love with him it wasn't 'cause of feeling physically attracted to him first. I saw his good values and personality first. My husband says that he fell in love with me before seeing a picture of me, he truly loved my personality, and thought me as beautiful. Later when he saw a picture of me, it was an confirmation on that I was indeed beautiful. But that was all because of how he had learned to know me first.

I beleive every man will find their chosen out wife beautiful. That Jacob found Rachel beautiful might be something he thought, not meaning she was seen as beautiful by everyone. Anyone that knew her would think her as beautiful too, yet, it can also be a fact of that they knew her very well, and for Jacob it was the woman he was meant to being with. It can be seen in so many ways. That a man desires a woman can also be God given, thus that they were meant being together, and that God has put that desire in both their hearts.

It is so easy to seeing beauty the way the world has made it; through magazines, tv, hollywood, ,media, commercials, etc... This makes most of us think the same way as the world. So when many Christians reads the bible it is easy thinking of beauty from that time the same way as how most people sees it like today. An example can be given about Cleopatra; In most movies you see her like very skinny and typical hollywood beauty, whilst they discovered that she was more round and smaller sized in a form of a sculpture. In every century, beauty is seen in different ways.

I firmly beleive God leads us to a person who is our soulmate for life. I know that I and my husband are one of those who God brought together, all known through the Spirit's Knowledge. We both knew before we even became a couple that we were meant being together, this can only be revealed through the Holy Spirit. Falling in love as in having crushes etc can be controlled, also when you focuse most on God and pray to Him, you will become less a victim to go around falling in love a lot. There might still be some form of interests and charms, but if you rely yourself on God's Wisdom more than your own, you will fast loose interest in whoever you might have fallen a bit for. When you ask God for helping and guiding you, He Will Do This! Put most trust on God to direct and bring you together with the one that He knows will fit perfectly together with you, this way you will not get into many wrong relationships and have less regrets. ;) :)

I also want to say something about the part "when having own life baggage". I don't think that God always wants us to take care of our life baggages first before getting together with our husband/wife. Sometimes this might be the case, 'cause this might be too damaging for a relationship or marriage. But also, this might be something God uses for a relationship/marriage to form and grow stronger through whatever difficult baggages there might be. Also, God can use both to helping each other with the healing process, whilst He is of course the one that can heal someone the most. Everything depending on God's plan.

usually it's an idealized person that we think we want. It's usually based on fantasy rather than reality.
