I don't see how at all that post was worldly conformed. >. <

All I gave was a scriptural reference.

And to Ugly, I only say that because if I flip over to (in my area) 105.9, the main music station for hip hop, rap, and all this, and flip back to the "Christian" station (90.7), then the Musical similarities are far to common in my OPINION. Yes I will say it's my opinion, but regardless, heed the Word my brethren.

I love you all and only want to an encouragement. Get in the Word and learn it. God will give you the many answers you need.

Your friend,
Moose.
Moose you're 18 your view is different from mine that's ok all I am suggesting is that music is not the problem as much as the content. I agree scripture is very clear but we must apply it evenly and look at the Spirit of the word as well. My point on conforming to the world was simply that several things we do to exist in the world could be considered conforming but the issue at this time was music and rap music specifically. I'm guessing you like certain music that's ok. I'm also saying that if God can use a donkey to relay a word he can surely use music.

I really need to know if rap music is bad ive listened to it since i was like 10 i am now 20 i just really wanted to know
I think it really depends on what rap music you are talking about. I don't think it would be fair to say that rap itself is a "bad" thing. But there are certain artists and songs that are probably not good and beneficial for you to listen to. For example, there are many rap artists that reserve a large space in their lyrics to talk about sex, drugs, alcohol, etc. Is that "bad" to listen to? I wouldn't listen to it. But there is a good amount of rap available that is not explicit or dishonoring to God. So you should just ask yourself specifically if you think the rap that you listen to is really helping or hindering your relationship with God.

Yes like I said earlier people give rap a bad rap but all desire to rap with God! Or pretend that they rap with him and he raps back! When they get rapped upside the head with truth of any version other than their own they give everyone else the bad rap or want them to take the rap for them. Just having a little fun with rap!!!!

No, not all rap/ hip hop is "bad" , depends on content and message,
make up your own mind, you dont need to listen to anyone here (including me)...

it is literally poetry when you think about it.

You made a very valid clear and honest point and had every right to do so your words are important too! And more than that you are correct!!!

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. -Eph 5:15-19

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. -Col 3:15-17

I'm personally not a fan of Christian rap, just cuz it seems a little too world-ish to me. SOME is good, but it's just not my style. Admittedly my ears aren't attuned to be able to tell what all is being said in such a fast pace. So about 75% of it is just that it's not my preference. I hear Lecrae is good :D

Check out Lecrae, Andy Mineo, Tedashii, Trip Lee, KB, Derek Minor. All Christian rappers who love God and rap. I see rap as another method of spreading the word. Their music has been a huge blessing for me. I hope you would check them out as well.
